If SyFy wants to increase female viewership, they should take a cue from shows like Lost and Heroes and make sure to cast lots of attractive men and have them take their shirts off frequently. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard girls say “I don’t have a clue what’s going on, but actors x, y, and z are so pretty!”
Although, for sci-fi, they seem to be doing pretty well in the ‘strong female characters’ department. They seem to understand that women would rather see a female character who’s not a doormat/bimbo/eye candy than one who can beat everyone up.

This is not great news for Defying Gravity but it's better than I expected. It mentions the international investors which might also make the series viable on a cable network like SyFy, where I think it would fit pretty well, if ABC does dump it. It might also be worth trying in another time slot for ABC. At the very least, it confirms that 13 episodes were made, that would probably eventually get released on DVD, but for now it sounds like it's off of ABC's schedule. This news might be worth mention in next week's sci-fi thread in case anyone is wondering why it's off of ABC's schedule.

Whoever thought up “syfy” should be downsized on the spot.
BTW does anyone know if there is any truth to the rumor that the voice cast of Futurama is rebeling against the insane stories of the latest futurama “movies”?

I heard they were rebelling against the minuscule pay.
