It may boil down to chromosomes...is he/she’s an XY, genetic male with femaleish parts...or is she an XX, genetic female with some maleish parts?
THere are all kinds of variations. Testicular feminization is one, adrenogenital syndrome. Chromosomal variations even mosaicism. But she had no ovareis or uterus so I am thinking she is a male with undescended testes. Sad thing here.

Medical details aside, I would say she shouldn't lose the medal as long as she's XX and not taking funny drugs or hormones. Special advantages caused by a natural medical condition should just be how the cookie crumbles for her competitors.
That's certainly the way I see it too, although I'm in no way a scientist, in any way. Irrespective of some anatomical anamoly or chemical/hormonal imbalance, I would think the XX/XY test would be the controlling "test". Bits & Pieces don't matter nearly as much as the genetic make-up, IMHO.
