The choreograpaher for the Miss Universe pageant, Michael Schwandt, said in an interview that Donald Trump hand picks six of the 15 Miss Universe finalists, and that the judges are only responsible for the final nine.
"His reason for doing so, as he told me and he’s told the girls before, is that he left it all up to preliminary judging in the past and some of the most beautiful women, in his opinion, were not in the top fifteen and he was kind of upset about that," Schwandt told the website Guanabee.com. "And he decided that he would pick a certain number and let the judges pick a certain number."

Does Trump have some sort of deal with FOX news? Why should we care how he runs his own business?
I don't know about FoxNews broadcast, but their website is designed and managed as if it's done by 15 year-old boys, which explains the frequency of the Trump and beauty pageant stories.

It’s not a matter of should we care, its wheter we should know that its rigged. Trump is free to do what he wants with his pagent, but now we know it really works rather than pretending its entirely up to the judges.
The last two times I watched a show Trump was associated with (apprentice) he was trying to sell some overpriced $50 million apartment of his both times.. totally unrelated to the shows storyline.
Well, if he's going to hire gay and female judges, what does he expect? If he wants someone to identify beautiful women, it would be a good idea to start with judges who are actually attracted to women.
