Fed 220 people on the big front lawn. Sold 70 paintings. Drank wayyyyyy too much. All in all not as high sales as previous years, however it was very good despite the idiot in the White House.
It’s art, not porn...LOL

Welllll, remember, when I drink enough, I can actually start to see what the artist was seeing, otherwise I’m just too uptight.
Maybe I need a drink (or two). ;)

Come on down. I just got back from the Kanab liquor store and am now restocked. The event consumed 12 cases of beer, 10 cases of assorted reds, 12 cases of whites and lots of other things. Chateaubriand was the main menu backed up by great veggies and a Binger pilaf with pine nuts and peppers. All the volunteers were super. We sang by the campfire until three in the morning on Saturday night with three flutes, five guitars, one mandolin and lots of singers. The Binger did Unchained Melody with jazz singer daughter.

Then there was the Magic Moment when the mountains came alive.
A few of the artists went over to Monument Valley earlier in the week. And that is my tease for Maynard Dixon Country 2009

we don’t KNOW that.
we only know this was the artists final rendering.
If I had pained something, didn’t like a part and revised it myself, I would not want it “restored” to the version I had rejected.
Here the restorer ASSUMED some patron wanted it changed. Artists of the day routinely painted over canvases. This should be treated the same. Even IF a written change order is found (so to speak) it is far more relavent as the final version than the version nobody wanted to display.

Go to the link in #13
Make your way to "Treatments" and you will read about the restorationer's reasons for the removal of the layers.
I would respect his judgment and reasoning.
We do NOT know what you stated: "we only know this was the artists final rendering." I don't know how you can say that b/c that would mean that the artist painted over his signed signature. That would be odd.
