These are noble gases, so their presence that deep in the Earth poses problems for the generally accepted model (not dogma) of Solar System formation. The presence of the Earth’s Moon does the same thing. So, one train leaves Sacramento heading east at 1:25 AM, another leaves Cleveland heading west at 7 PM (both local time)... when does the train wreck happen? ;’)

Neon can come from radioactive decay of uranium and thorium. We know that radioactive decay is what keeps the Earth's interior hot after billions of years, so why is it so surprising that we have neon?
