No meat in it, but you do use salt pork as a seasoning..that gives it that “smoky” flavor. I guess you can find a smoke seasoning that is meatless...be interesting to look into.

No, that would work fine. I sometimes use a little bit of bacon for seasoning too, and I use beef/chicken broth. I just can't tolerate actually eating meat (medical reasons, not "PETA" reasons.:)

Well, some day when you're bored and have nothing else to do, maybe you could freepmail me the recipe.:)

I am going to call it a night; I'm going to the Packers practice tomorrow morning with a friend and my older son, and out to lunch. Today was busy (two masses, arts festival downtown, Packers practice)(I know, I know, I'm addicted but it's a HARMLESS addiction.:) & I am beat.

Oh dear, just heard that a Wisconsin soldier was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq.:(

He was from the southern part of the state.

I saw some flags at half-staff today and was wondering why. Now I know.:(
