I wonder if the same thing applies to dogs.
Ive known dogs that couldnt stand even the smell of alcohol. I owned one alcoholic dog and cared for another. No one had forced them to drink. The one I owned would wait for someone to set their beer on the floor, knock it over and lap it up. No one thought it was funny, it was a waste of beer. When Fred got drunk hed curl up and sleep it off.
The other dog was a Chihuahua I was caring for while its people were on vacation. I was warned not to allow him to have any beer. Nothing was said about whiskey. I thought the strong aroma of Jack Daniels would be a deterrent - and I knew darn well the strong taste would keep him away. I was wrong.
I left a highball glass with three fingers of Jack on the coffee table and went to the kitchen for a beer. I heard the sound of a dog drinking. He was lapping it up. I tried to grab the glass and nearly got bit. He was a very rowdy drunk, tearing around the apartment and attacking everything he saw. He even chewed through a bed slat.
Hs name was Angel, but I called him Demon Dog after that - and made sure there was no open booze while he stayed with me.
ROFLMAO!!!
