Hamilton and Jefferson would both be horrified to see the monstrosity the Federal Government and our country has become. They both would have strogly disliked Obama for a plethora of reasons. Back in the 1790s, people were wondering if Article 1 Section 8 was too much power for the Feds. Jefferson was afraid this would be too much. Hamilton would be considered a fringe small government advocate along with Jefferson on today’s political climate.
The article is too simplistic. Hamilton was the architect of American commerce, against trade barriers, and monopolies and his policies led to the creation of NYC as the hub of global free market capitalism. This is the very reverse of what Obama seeks.
Jefferson was wrong about the French Revolution (as Adams and Burke, among others, would note), but right about the rest of this. He was absolutely on target about centralized power of any kind.
