I don't know why Great Dane's seem to die so young.

Because they outgrow their hearts.

They’re prone to cancer, gastric torsion, bone malformation, and who knows what else...

All the large breeds tend to have short lifespans. I’ve had some large ones, Irish Wolfhounds in particular. Won’t do it again, can’t go through the heartache of 7-9 years.

Life expectancy for large dogs isn’t as long as other dogs. Great Danes only are supposed to live 5-7years. We’ve had 4 that made it to between 10-12 though.
