The car is in focus but the UFO is slightly out of focus as it is obviously just a few inches from the lens which conveniently hides the supporting string which is now off screen.
It is simply a small model made to look bigger by being closer to the camera. If you push it back to really hover over the car then you will notice that it is a pathetically small craft to journey from another solar system.
Although, it is possible that the aliens, seeing him with his camera, came swooping down to have their photos taken. And, the intrepid professional photographer did not hit the dirt but bravely stood his ground for the shot of a lifetime. :)
