Just remember the french resistance .....

LMAO every time I see that myth posted.

Resistance, yeah sure, that explains that whole Petain Vichy thing when French Police and militia's rounded up Jews for their German overlords.

And more than half of air dropped supplies ended up in the hands of the communist tireurs who were turning in right wing resistance groups when they weren't murdering them outright.

The whores of Place Pigalle showed more resistance then the average frenchie

I’ve heard that it was amazing how the ranks of the Resistance swelled, after the war was over.

Now you gotta remember the Germans were giving 2.3KG of marmalade for a turned in Sten SMG, with all the ammo - (If the packaged wasn’t opened)

But the Allies prevailed in the end ... yes a long and awful struggle ... and the French Resistance was only ‘so much help’... But in the end ... we beat the Nazis ... regardless of the individual failures along the way ... D-Day was a mixed bag of success and failure ... the end result was not... This is why WE must not lose site of the individual initiative with one point of resistance - one little hand gun...

“The whores of Place Pigalle showed more resistance then the average frenchie “

A dear friend of mine was French Reistance. He was 16 years old when he started. He and his family lived in the South of France near the Spanish border. They would help smuggle American and Brit pilots out of France so they could live and fly and fight the NAZIs again. If anyone of them were caught the whole family would have been tortured for information and then executed.

Do not sell the average Frenchman short. Some of their leaders have been craven and corrupt. But what the hell, look at what we have today.

Lies. All Lies. The truth?

Many Frenchmen joined the Resistance in 1945. Fashionably kitted out in berets, leather jackets, and carrying all sorts of weapons, they formed the huge army called

Maquis après la Guerre.

Those police, government, and military officials who cooperated with the Boche did not lose their pension or promotion rights after the war. Many of them, too, became fervent anti-NAZIs as soon as the coast was clear.

BTW, The Resistance movements in France, Italy, Greece, and Yugoslavia were heavily Communist and stopped at nothing to damage their royalist or democratic rivals in the resistance against the NAZIs, including tipping off the NAZIs as to their rivals' whereabouts and plans!

French resistance helped my father in law and his crew mates find their way to the Americans after he escaped from being shot down over German occupied territory in Switzerland. He very much credits the French people who helped them. He passed away last year on the same day of the year he was shot down. My Mother in law passed this past Sunday... only a few hours from passing one year to the date of her husband.

Surely your public liberal education trimmed your objectivity of history.

Better go back and study a little more and not take the low road and assume what other liberals have told you.....
