my only question was why did they spend so much money to not simply present a long form birth certificate and the fact that so many other early records of his are sealed unlike any other predecessor I know of
but didn't the Hawaii GOP governor validate that she saw a legit BC copy (in her opinion)?

No. The Governor does not have the authority to look at the documents.
The department head said that she looked at the documents and that they were properly filed under Hawaiian law. She has NEVER said that they show birth on Hawaiian soil, and Hawaiian law specifically allows the issued short form COLB to show birth on Hawaiian soil for children born elsewhere under some circumstances.
The sealed internal DHHS files may well show a far different story. That story would be on the "long form" and could be had for $12.
