No flames here; I live in Indy and have been going to the track for over 40 years. I’d love to see F1 return; it was without doubt the best event there. I don’t blame Tony George for its discontinuation. I think he did everything he could to accommodate that greedy little pervert ecclestone (dont ask how I really feel about him.)
I don’t think F1 should race on the oval; it’s not their game.
I’m ambivalent about a 2nd Indy race on the road course.
As for F1, I do have a scheduling idea that makes sense. F1 should not have more than 18 events per year. What they should do is have 24 sanctioned tracks, and do a four year rotation where each track gets a race 3 of every 4 years.
Clark's 1965 win was the first win for a rear-engined car at the Indianapolis 500. No front-engined car has won the race since.
