I’m always drawn to the Cobra...simple curves and lots of Power..enough for Me!
Shelby built those near where I lived, saw them all the time. He built his wife one with an anuto transmission. Saw her a lot. All the 278 originals. I had left when the 427 version was around.
If game Sims are anywhere near what actually driving race cars is like, or can be like, ac cobras are a real beast of a car, but so light that they are very slippy. Hard to control- not like other cars that are quite forgiving If you give the car too much gas like on corners, but once you get the power down,. Then it is a blast to “drive” (in the simm I mean). Of all the f
Different vehicles offered in the simm to try, the cobra was among the top hardest to get used to power to weight ratio wise.
The Porsche 917 thatsteve mcqueen drove was another beast- so much power (in the game I mean, and very likely real life too) and hard to control, UT again a ton of fun once you got the hang of it.
Thr simms are as close as I’ll ever come to “driving” them, but it was still a blast to race agaisnt others online with some of the greatest cars ever built, even kf they aren’t exactly like driving the real thing. Professional racers though claim they are “pretty accurate” in a lot of aspects, and on,in simm racers have been able to go from simm to the real thing on track and adjust very quickly to actuslly driving the real cars, (plus they already had intimate onowledge of the racetrack peculiarities, bumps, curbs, dips, high spots, etc etc etc. Jimmy Broadbent is a classic examp,e of that- he races online, a d was asked if he would like to drive a new McClaren on a certain. Track, which of course he jumped at, and did very well on setting some pretty impressive course times)
