I recall working for two weeks in Montreal (the company I worked for was setting up a ‘Canadian approved’ assembly facility) and my contact there showed be ‘around’ — a nice fellow. This was 1999 or 2000.
He made sure to show me the F1 track and was VERY proud of the 3,500 F1 folks that attended (ticket holders, not related to teams) every race. “They purchase a lot of expensive jewelry and goods from our stores. It’s great for our economy.”
