No, what's done is done, and the results will stand.
The only thing I didn't like about the finish in Abu Dhabi was that Max was able to pit for new tires under the Safety Car, rejoin behind a bunch of back markers, then have those back markers cleared by the Race Director for the final shootout lap.
Had Hamilton been allowed to also put on fresh tires, then it would have been a fair fight. But with Verstappen on new tires, Hamilton on old tires, and no traffic to deal with, the result was inevitable.
“Had Hamilton been allowed to also put on fresh tires, then it would have been a fair fight....”
Hambone HAD the opportunity to put on fresh tires - his team chose NOT to put fresh tires on.
Mercedes LOST in the strategy department.
They thought the race was ‘in the bag’ then one of the teams Mercedes sells engines to crashed out which beget a safety car and everyone got just as upset as when Naomi Osaka Beat Serena Williams in the US Open in 2018.
Hambone and Serena Williams are both unable to shoulder defeat with any dignity.
As I have stated on this thread before, this decision is NOTHING compared to the ruthless, devious and diabolical FIA/F1 race director decisions that Ayrton Senna had to endure while battling Alan Prost (spit).
Have a good weekend.
