Back in the 60s my high school chums and I would attend a lot of races at Launa Seca. One of the best turn sequences in all of current racing tracks is the "corkscrew" at Laguna Seca. My pals and I would hang out on the limbs of a huge oak tree (long since removed) and observe the differences among the talented and wannabe drivers.
As challenging as was the corkscrew sequence, the most difficult turn was turn 1, and it would have compared with the fabled Eau Rouge. (Do you dare take it flat?)
I neglected to add, the old turn 1 is no longer. Such a pity for such a great high speed turn.
