1. The $25 million is from the state to COTA each year.

2. The F1 fee to COTA was $30 million for the 2015 race and will increase to about $33.6 million.

But lets look at say Houston's sport teams. The City of Houston (ie taxpayers) provided a billion dollar bond to build three stadiums,one each for football, baseball and basketball. Then to get the super bowl in 2004 Houston built a light rail system. The cost was $324 million.

So at 25 million dollars per year it will take the state over 52 years just to match what the City of Houston spent on three sports!

So let's talk about other sports sponsored by taxpayers.

LOL- again; $30 million/annually for one racing event versus three stadiums/arena which do a lot more than just host football, basketball and baseball...

is that light rail system going to be torn down or shut down after the Super Bowl? or will it be used for commuters and/or people getting to/from events at the stadiums, 12 months a year?

because the $30 million is arrive on Thursday then leave Sunday afternoon...

btw- you keep arguing expenditures for facilities which are used year round..i’m talking about a one time payment of $25mill- $30mill which ends up in bernie eccelstone’s pocket for a three day event- not even close...
