My 1st thought was that the Drivers and Fans are very fortunate that there are not more people hurt or worse. Both Drivers and Fans have limited protection.

Then I remembered that the liability laws of Europe are nothing like the USA.

So in fact this is a great example of lack of regulation, laws, law suits, etc. and people tend to figure out a way to survive and prosper.
