This brought tears to my eyes!

My neighbor just went through the same thing after the loss of her husband who was a Marine. She found a ring and priceless treasures from him while cleaning out his drawer.

In fact when she went to make funeral arrangements she found a note from him that had been attached to their Trust, that he wanted to be buried in the Military Cemetary here in Riverside,Ca. She never had been told by him about that but she quickly made the adjustment.

That ring was the closest I could find to ‘mine’.

That is a sweet tender story about your neighbor. My husband could have had a full military burial at Arlington Cemetary, but made it clear that he did not want that.

I got the CD of the bugalist at Arlington playing TAPS, and my friend played it as I scattered his ashes on our property. The music echoed across the red rocks, and there wasn’t a dry eye among our friends attending his private, simple Memorial.
