I wasn't sure if i wanted to post this, but here goes. I've been holding onto this for a bit now, cause if it's real I don't know if I could get in trouble.
I voted for McCain last year (by default, I wanted huckabee) because I knew Nobama would be a disaster, but i wasn't sold on the citizenship thing. on a whim, I asked a firend in the UK to see if she could find any old records from back when Kenya was a british colony. Well a few days later she emailed me this.
it looks real to me, but I'm not sure. And I havent been able to get a hold of my friend since she sent it to me. If this is legitimate, should i be worried?
Here's the link, I don't have a website to upload it to. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=281blzk&s=3
IBTZ!
ZOT 101
It was plainly typeset, commonly done when printing something that would be copied in large quantities (like newspapers) where time spent setting up proportional fonts was acceptable.
Good job!
If you were a clerk in the British Empire chances are you'd take pride in your penmanship and education.
For an African in 1961, to be a clerk wasn't a nothing job, but a high status one.
You wouldn't have gotten that kind of job if your penmanship was that awful.
But it’s on the internet! It HAS to be true!
I wonder what I'd find if I went back there and dug it up?
Can you do that for me?
Thank you. At worst it will be an entertaining practical joke, at best it’s real and will depose BHO as needed.
ta-ta Troll
Proportional fonts were unreasonable for single-copy typed memos.
They were normal for mass-produced typeset documents & forms.
What’s not passing the smell test is the people he11-bent on dissing absolutely anything they come across on the subject, and doing so they look grossly ignorant in the process.
When I was a kid I buried an acorn in my back yard. Years later I went back to check on it, but a tree had grown up in the spot, so I couldn’t dig it up. :(
Could be different in Kenya, though.
Got him :-)
Thank you for the entertaining practical joke. Nicely, if briefly, played - esp. the background text.
Simple solution: Link Nancy Pelosi to the image.
If she and the Obamabots freak out, we have something interesting here.
“Just how did you come across this link?”
Dan Rather sent it to him.
*whispers*
(So did I, even before I saw your post, redhead.)
*snotr*
The full background text, which is in Dutch, reads:
DIT IS GEEN GELDIG DOCUMENT VAN DE OVERHEID. DIT IS POLITIEKE COMMENTAAR. HIJ IS VOORZITTER VOOR MINSTENS DRIE EN EEN HALF VAN MEER JAREN. KEUR HET GOED. DIT ZAL NIET VERANDEREN.
Rough translation:
"This is not a valid government document. This is political commentary. He is President for at least three and a half more years. Get used to it, it's not going to change."
Welcome to Free Republic! Very interesting thread. Thanks!
Oh, OK. Here's a load off YOUR mind.
Now, go back to DU or wherever else you cast a shadow.
IATZ, sadly...
