NEW YORK Michael Vick has been conditionally reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
Vick can participate without delay in preseason practices, workouts and meetings and can play in the final two preseason games if he can find a team that will sign him.

Dogs, as much as we love them, are at heart stupid animals that will do as we like, to gain our love. UFC fighters are self-aware humans responsible for their own actions. Fighting dogs for sport is simply wrong unless you think they are simply here for our amusement and you don't care anything for their wellbeing. I know my dogs. I know that they feel pain. My pit less than others, but none the less even she feels. People have a choice, dogs don't, in this instance.
No murmuring in the Wash Post or an any local interviews with Coach Zorn, so I think it is needless chatter. We’ll see if Zorn get asked about it tonight, and I am sure he will put the kabash on any Vick rumor.
Wash fans are perpetually pissed off because of Dan Snyder, how they manage to be the most profitable franchise is beyond me - but it must be licensed gear and sportswear. If you want to see over the top pissed off Redksins fans, bring Vick here. I can guarantee the Steelers become my favorite team.
On a lighter note, how many times will the Kenyan appear on MNF???
Take a look at any of: Jack Lambert, Dick Butkus, Conrad Dobler, Charles Haley, Ray Nitschke, Chuck Bednarik. They would have killed opposing players if they were allowed to, and many of them tried anyway. Want young kids to emulate them? Give me a break. Football is a MAN'S game. Leave the pantywaists to baseball.
LOL! Now that is good. I love it!
Wonder how the Dawg Pound will react if/when he first plays in Cleveland.
I agree. But some people, and I call those people “wackos”, value the lives of animals more than they do those of humans.
Michael Vick should have been, and WAS punished for the bad things he did. He accepted his punishment and served his time in prison.
I wonder how many of the people here who want to see his punishment continue for the rest of his life call themselves “Christians” regarding other aspects of their lives.
This is good. If he should still be punished, then he should be in jail. If he’s done being punished, then he should be allowed to work. Should be a no-brainer since he doesn’t work around dogs (the canine kind, at any rate).
I hope that was sarcasm...it was seriously sick.
I agree.
Rose was guilty of gambling on MLB games and never showed any remorse. The stated penalty is a lifetime ban - especially for asshats like him.
There is no stated penalty for dog fighting. Vick showed sincere remorse for what he did.
Two very different cases. Vick should be allowed to play, provided he's still as good.
Doesn't the idea you express with that statement fly in the face of Christian teachings?
Have to agree. He did his time. Shame he’s so talented and wasted it on dog torture. Any team that signs him will have guaranteed animal rights protests at whatever stadium he plays in. Hope he can stand the booing.
The NFL arrest rate is less than that of the general U.S. population and around half the arrests have come from the same 40 or 50 players. Also, the individual teams are very intolerant of thuggery, with Dallas, Cincy and Oakland being the few exceptions. If any league doesn't have a thug problem, it's the NFL.
This blogger doesn't think they'll do it, firstly because of how Vick's contract would be treated under the cap rules, which I don't understand and haven't even tried to understand.

I don't like dogfighting. I love dogs. However, if the NFL can keep guys like Bill Romonowski, Randy Moss, Ray Lewis, Michael Irvin, Matt Jones, and the like around, they can can do the same for Vick.
The NFL is a business. It's a football league. It's not a Priest's league outside of Priest Holmes. If a team wants to sign him, I don't have a problem with it. If they DON'T want to sign him, I don't have a problem with that either, but it should be up to individual teams.
Don't buy into that Owl guy!
He's always posting outrageous comments to see if people fall for it!
“if he can find a team that will sign him.
Wonder if the Browns will sign him.
...wait for it...
The Ravens have a murderer as a linebacker... Maybe they could pick him up cheap.
I would have said the cowboys would take him, but it looks like jerry is trying to clean up their act.
Can I be the first FReeper to not see your sarcasm and jump all over you for condoning dog fighting?
;-)
