I am a huge Browns Fan And I think Stallworth should be tossed out of Football forever.
I know If I had killed a man while driving drunk I would be in a world of Sh!t. But apparently if you are a famous Football player you get a free pass.
Time to start laying the smackdown on these fools and throw the felon's out of the game for good!

I’m totally disgusted with this. My hope is a silent agreement among all the owners not to give this sociopath a job offer this year.
Scanning the thread, I keep seeing the suggestion that Vick should be given a ‘second chance’.
He is being given a second chance. He’s out of prison, and now on probation.
That has absolutely nothing to do with his being allowed to represent the National Football League.
The ‘logic’...if you want to call it that, is upside down because he was a professional athlete.
If a bank teller robs the bank they work at, upon release from prison, is it only a ‘second chance’ if that bank hire’s the convicted teller back?
No. Fact is, the bank would be insane to rehire this person.
We all know it. So why is it you want to insist Vick only gets a ‘second chance’ if he’s allowed to return to the NFL, which is a Privilege, not a right?
Another point. Look it up, he’s no different than Pacman Jones. He’s caused quite a few headaches for the NFL over the course of his rocky career as Atlanta’s quarterback. To be clear about ‘no different’ he’s repeatedly embarrassed the Falcon’s, the city of Atlanta, and the NFL. Same as Pacman, noting not the same type of activity.
The fact is Vick got a HUGE break when the RICO statutes were not applied to his multi state CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE. Had that happened, he’d have gone to prison for two full decades, possibly more.
I’ll just sit back and watch what happens. I guarantee the outburst from the dog rescue types - not to be confused with the lunatics at PETA by the way - will picket the team dumb enough to hire this guy. They will go after the advertisers, they will go after the stadium owners, the leage itself. Its going to generate a repeat of every single aspect of this incident, with even mor graphic details due to Vick having to state what he did, how he did it, and how long he did it.
I wouldn’t hire a convicted felon into one of my companies. How anyone can assert the NFL should is beyond me.
Final point. Goodell wasn’t commissioner when Larry Little killed somebody while driving drunk, nor was he Commissioner during the Ray Lewis incident. Don’t assign any weight to those in this debate, because the league’s policy has changed so dramatically since then (primarily to my Bengals running amok for two seasons as we all know).

I have no idea what the NFL’s crime rate being lower than the general population has to anything—even assuming it is an accurate statistic. I’m absolutely certain that a siginicant percent of crime perpetrated by NFL players hidden by out-of-court settlements that the public never hears about.
That being said, the NFL has no responsibility for rehiring a felon—none, nada and zip. The only rational reason for rehiring a felon is money—the NFL is counting on people’s natural curiousity to bring them to the stadium to see what an animal abuser looks like.
Meanwhile, you conveniently ignore all the other salient points I made about retreading a convicted felon.

Again, stop knocking down strawmen and actually listen what people have to say. I haven't even divulged my opinion on the reinstatement of Vick. Read my posts and show me where I even mention Vick, other than listing 3 teams that might hire the guy. You won't find anything.

If you actually read my posts, you would see that what it has to do with is rebutting the point that the NFL is a "thug" league. It is not. The arrest rate is relatively low.

The statistic involves arrests. So any case that settles out of court would be counted.
I am not really a fan of the NFL. More like the Nation Felons League. I have never been supportive of the hip hop thug culture it promotes and most of the players are overpaid small minded jerks. I also think that it consumes Americans far too much. They care more about Vick’s stat line then they do about what goes on in Washington. There are many out door activities one can do on a Sunday other than watching this mind numbing sport. Same goes to the NBA and MLB.
