Instead, both bills will restrict the availability of the healthiest food in America—food grown, processed and distributed locally for local people. The proposed legislation will also force most of the young people in my area (western NC) to give up their new careers of farming because they won’t be able to make a living working within its inappropriate constraints.<<<

I keep posting how the gov is pushing for homegrown/local food in abandoned lots and rooftops and they are at the same time writing laws to make it illegal to do what they say we should do.

Something is very wrong, and in the end we are in trouble and not allowed to have the best of foods.

LOL, what else can one expect, when they pass off someone else’s plants in the White House gardens.

Well, my plan is to grow it myself and dare them to try and take it! Backed up by Mr. Colt, Mr. Winchester and Msrs. Smith and Wesson. Now I grant you, I will give it in a minute to family and close friends in need, but they need to learn one lesson - I am like a chain - I can be led to do something, but you’ll have one hell of a time trying to push me to do it. Since we don’t have any real honest-to-goodness leaders to do the leading, they shall have the daunting task of pushing this reluctant chain that takes every opportunity to go my own way!

Well, looks like we may really get dumped on with the snow...
Weathermen are calling for the band that includes me to need to be prepared for 20-30”. Forecasters are calling this Snowmageddon - Gov. has declared state of emergency, all cars are ordered off the roads except emergency vehicles starting 10 pm tonight (just about 18 minutes). National Guard was activated - Son-in-law (Emergency Command operations Sgt. in the National Guard - his full time job)reported in this morning with bags packed for at least 4 days at their Emergency Command Center where he works. His latest report is that phase I is fully in force and they have phase II well underway. Tonight they are moving men and equipment out to stand by at local fire/ambulance/emt stations to blaze trails for emergency equipment and assist in rescues.

For the first time, I hooked up my equipment for heaters/lights. I have a battery with a charger to keep the battery charged while we have current, and I have an inverter that converts the 12V battery to 115V 60 cycle to run things. The inverter is rated at 1,500 watts and the stove is drawing only 117 watts... Even allowing liberally for loss during the conversions, it should power the pellet stove heater for at least 2 days before needing a recharge. If the power is still off, I can put the inverter on the car and jumper cables to the battery for the half hour it would take to charge up the battery. So, with two cars full of gas and several extra cans of gas on hand, I could go 3-4 weeks without power and never have to fire up my big generator. Love it when a project comes together! Sure lots quieter with the inverter and the gas usage is really low. Besides, a car running for half an hour every couple of days won’t draw near as much attention as a loud generator running all day.

Plus, for lights, I won’t even have to run them on the inverter, I have 6 solar yard lights that will go outside during the day to charge, and in the house at night for light. These are really nice since they are bright and have an on/off switch to conserve energy.

Have enough laid by to run a bakery/soup kitchen for the neighborhood for a couple of months at least.

Fun will come Sunday morning early when I have to get wife to the hospital to work... If we make it, she will probably be there for several days - they have taken over the whole physical therapy section and filled it with cots for employees.

Only satisfaction may be seeing all the hot-air politicians being stuck in DC and get a full dose of how wonderfully their big Gov’t. programs work with 30” of snow. HeHe...
