I've also heard that inventories in stores are VERY low, because last year so very little sold, so retailers have only a certain amount of merchandise available for this holiday season, and some retailers have already started special holiday sales. Yet, I believe in some specialty magazines I saw some experts being quoted as saying that they can tell that a certain percentage of the population is having "Frugality Fatigue" - and they are starting to leave generic store brands and beans & rice & staples in favor of more expensive brand name foods.

THAT was really hard for me to imagine. I mean... really, in the stores -- aisle after aisle after aisle -- basic items are all noticably higher in price.

I would call that brainwashing, they think that if they plant the thought, it will take root in our minds.

If prices keep going up, we will all be looking for ‘second hand’ food stores.
