Businessman: US must heed electronic terror threat

By CAROLYN THOMPSON (AP) – 20 hours ago

ELMA, N.Y. — A New York businessman is sounding the alarm on a potential terror threat that he says has not gotten the attention or action it deserves, despite a congressional committee’s finding that the country grows more vulnerable to it by the day.

Henry Schwartz, chairman of Steuben Foods and Elmhurst Dairy, is so concerned that an enemy’s electromagnetic pulse attack could paralyze America that he will gather a group of scientists, congressmen and others for a conference next month on how the country should protect itself.

Dogs with very severe signs including hemorrhagic diarrhea

A single clinic on Florida’s west coast has seen 6 cases in the past month
of hemorrhagic diarrhea and vomiting accompanied by high fevers in dogs,
predominantly from a poor section of Sarasota County, veterinarians from
the clinic said this week [10-14 Aug 2009].

Dr Steve Koch, owner of Tuttle Animal Medical Clinic, and his associate, Dr
Eva Ojolick-Ryan, told VIN News Service that 5 of the 6 dogs died within 24
hours of being at the hospital. Most had been sick for only one or 2 days
before being seen. The cause of the outbreak is unknown.

Apart from the fact that all but 2 of the dogs had lived in a low-income
area, Koch said they had little in common. “They varied anywhere from
(about) age 8 months to 6 years,” he recounted. “Some had had every vaccine
out there, including 4-way lepto; some had had no vaccines at all. One of
the dogs, (the owner) had only owned it for a day, so he had no history.”

Of the 6 dogs, 4 were pit bulls, Ojolick-Ryan said. The others were a
greyhound and an American Eskimo. Koch said one animal from outside the
area was a well-cared-for pit bull that was up-to-date on his vaccinations.
It had moved from Daytona Beach and was in Sarasota only 4 days when it
became ill.

Koch said the sick dogs had extremely high temperatures, in the
neighborhood of 107 degrees Fahrenheit [42 degrees Celsius], and very
bloody diarrhea and vomitus: “I mean, it’s pure blood,” he said.

The dogs had low white blood cell counts, soaring serum creatinine values,
and acute renal failure and destruction, Ojolick-Ryan said. “Urine also
turned from yellow at onset to brown near death,” she said. [Brown urine
may be an indication of myoglobinuria or hematuria that is not frank blood.
- Mod.TG] Most of the dogs’ owners were of limited means and unable to pay
for diagnostic lab work, the veterinarians said. Koch said his clinic
picked up the bill for tests for parvovirus and leptospirosis on some of
the patients. The results were negative.

“The clinic has picked up the cost of a lot of the blood work and treating,
too, to try and save these dogs,” Ojolick-Ryan said. “So diagnostics have
been limited, as well as post studies.”

The veterinarians discussed whether rawhide chews might be a factor, but
case notes provided by Ojolick-Ryan show that only 3 of the 6 dogs were
given rawhide treats. “We were grasping at straws,” Koch said.

The cases began showing up on 22 Jun 2009 — 2 of them back-to-back that
day. The most recent patient came to the clinic on 28 Jul 2009.

In trying to solve the mystery, the clinic contacted a variety of experts,
among them Dr Cynda Crawford, an immunology and infectious diseases expert
at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Crawford
agreed to look into the matter, and Ojolick-Ryan sent her some data.

However, Crawford told VIN News Service by e-mail last Wednesday [12 Aug
2009] that she had nothing to report. “There is very little case material
to work with, so am struggling with meaningful diagnostic approaches,” she
wrote. “...Everything is basically speculation at this point.”

Dr Bill Jeter, a veterinarian and bureau chief of contagious and infectious
diseases in Florida’s Division of Animal Industry, said his department is
monitoring the situation. He noted that there was some discussion among his
colleagues that the outbreak could be caused by infections of a virulent
strain of _Escherichia coli_. In humans, exposure to _E. coli_ 0517:H7 can
lead to hemolytic-uremic syndrome (HUS), the onset of which may include
bloody vomiting and diarrhea. HUS occurs when toxins produced by _E. coli_
destroy red blood cells. Among people infected by _E. coli_, HUS is seen
mostly in children, the elderly and adults with weak immune systems. It is
rare in dogs, but not unheard of.

Ojolick-Ryan, continuing to work on the cases while on vacation in Canada,
said by email on Friday [14 Aug 2009] that she’s following up on the HUS
angle by sending fecal samples to Dr Alice Agasan, chief of the bureau of
diagnostic laboratories in the state Department of Agriculture. She said
she is also sending tissue samples to Crawford. “I only have samples from
one case so far,” Ojolick-Ryan said. “If — heaven forbid — we get another
case, more samples will be taken.”

Jeter said that if the diagnosis turns out to be HUS, it would be odd to
see an outbreak confined to one clinic. “I haven’t heard of anybody else
reporting it,” he said. “I’m sure if it was (being found elsewhere), we’d
be hearing about it.”

Ojolick-Ryan said she heard of one other case, in south Charlotte County,
involving a Greyhound with similar signs. But she was unable to confirm
whether the case could be considered part of the same outbreak.

[While this “outbreak” seems rather limited in area as well as cases, it
could be the so-called “tip of the iceberg”. There may be other clinics in
the area that have had similar cases and have not reported it, or may not
have connected the dots that there is more than one case, especially if it
is a multiple doctor hospital.

While it fits the description of _E. coli_ HUS in humans, this is rare in
dogs. But the bacterium may have modified in some fashion to affect dogs
more like people. If there are other cases similar to what is described
here, then reporting it to the state authorities may help provide answers.

·Jointly released with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit·

Date: August 15, 2009

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FIRE INVESTIGATORS DETERMINE CAUSE OF LA BREA FIRE

GOLETA, CA... A week-long investigation by U.S. Forest Service Special Agents, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit and Fire Investigators has revealed the cause of the La Brea Fire. Investigators revealed that the La Brea Fire was started by a cooking fire in a marijuana drug trafficking operation.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit has confirmed that the camp at the origin of the fire was an illegal marijuana operation believed to be run by a Mexican National Drug Organization. The Narcotics Unit has been working in the area within the last month eradicating other nearby marijuana cultivation sites.

Although the La Brea Fire started more than one week ago, there is evidence that the unburned marijuana garden area has been occupied within the last several days. The Narcotics Unit has secured the camp area which was located in remote and rugged terrain. It is also believed that the suspects are still within the San Rafael Wilderness trying to leave the area on foot. Officials warn not to approach anyone who looks suspicious but to instead contact the nearest law enforcement agency.

Anyone with further information is urged to contact U.S. Forest Service, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department or local law enforcement agencies.

The investigation continues with cooperating agencies including Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department, Santa Barbara County Fire Department, CalFire, and other local agencies.

The La Brea Fire Tip Line is still open, and anyone with additional information helpful to this ongoing investigation is urged to contact investigators at (805) 686-5074. Your call may remain anonymous.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department will release more information regarding the Narcotics investigation on Monday. The media contact at the Sheriff’s Department is Drew Sugars, Public Information Officer, at 805.681.4192.

For media inquiries regarding the investigation of the cause and origin of the La Brea Fire, contact the U.S. Forest Service at (805) 961-5707, and an investigator will return you call.

This guy was on the local radio host’s show on Friday. As I listened I thought he was a crackpot but now I think he knows what he’s talking about.

http://www.trendsresearch.com/journal.html
The Trends Journal

The Collapse of ‘09
The “Panic of ‘08” will be followed by “The Collapse of ‘09.” In 2008, when the world’s largest financial firms and equity markets crumbled, Wall Street’s woes preoccupied the media. In 2009, the focus will broaden to include a range of calamities that will leave no sector unscathed.

The Revolution
It’s unprecedented. There is nothing like it in the history of the United States. No week goes by without the Government buying into or buying up another failing “too big to fail” using taxpayer money. In the process, a super-race of corporate giants is being created that will be declared “too big to tumble.” It is a matter of historical fact: When people are homeless, helpless, desperate, jobless and hungry, sooner or later they will rebel. And it won’t be any different in America.

Economic Slim-Fast
Like it or not, Americans are going on a diet: a spending diet and a food diet. Staying fit and living frugally was a mainstay of pre-World War II America, and it will be a major defining trend of 21st century America.

Little People Squeeze
To keep local, state and federal governments running, and to finance stimulus packages and bailout programs, politicians will put the squeeze on the already squeezed. The biggest squeeze: property taxes. Historically, empires crash when taxes are raised beyond the capacity to pay.

Regenerative Medicine
The signs are clear that the time is ripe for stem cells to start coming out of the laboratory and into the clinic, to make the leap from theoretical to practical, from promise to product. The breathtaking promise, the wild hype, and the raging controversy has turned stem cell research into a political lightning rod, a scientific holy grail, and the last best hope for millions of people with otherwise untreatable diseases.

The Greatest Depression
While we alone predicted the “Panic of ’08” (and even took out the domain name “Panicof08.com” on November 7, 2007), we are not alone in predicting a Depression. The “D” word is being uttered – in some cases by those who have the most to lose and whose best interests are not served by spreading gloom and doom.

Obamarama
Setting aside the only major question that remains unanswered (when, or if, Obama makes Supreme Court selections, will they reflect the liberal beliefs of his supporters?), we see nothing coming from his administration that can prevent The Collapse of ’09, the Greatest Depression or the brewing Revolution. From these macro-developments, a number of other significant trends — some promising, some foreboding — will emerge, accelerate and intensify.

Bush Gardens
To cope with food shortages and food rationing during World War II, masses of people planted “Victory Gardens.” As America moves into the Greatest Depression, the need to put food on the table will again oblige people to grow their own.

Whole Health Healing
Just as Greatest Depression economic conditions cannot be cured with financial stimulus pills or monetary painkillers, so too chronic degenerative disease cannot be cured by silver bullet drug therapies or through the magic of medical doctors. The philosophy and practice of Whole Health Healing, a first line of defense, requires that the individual responsibility for achieving and maintaining health.

That’s Entertainment
During the grim times of the Great Depression, arts and entertainment flourished, and with the repeal of Prohibition the good times rolled … and they’ll roll again. Lifting spirits, and drinking them, will be big businesses and major pastimes for both down-and-outs and the Uptown crowd during the Greatest Depression.

College Crash
As the economy and the country unravel — closely following our forecast schedule — there is not a single major mitigating factor to forestall, much less reverse the process. Following the commercial real estate and retail cave-ins: College. Most will downsize, many will fail...

Russia: Hajj pilgrims must get swine flu vaccination

Russian Muslims wishing to obtain a visa for Saudi Arabia for the hajj will have to produce certificates of being vaccinated against the A/H1N1 virus.

The requirement is stated in the recommendations of the Saudi authorities sent to the office of the Russian council for the hajj Ahmed Bilalov, Bilalov’s deputy Islam Nazaraliyev told Interfax-Religion on Wednesday.

The pilgrims will have to be vaccinated two weeks before the visa issue date.

In addition senior citizens aged over 65, people with chronic ailments, children under 12 and expectant mothers were strongly recommended to refrain from the pilgrimage this year, Nazaraliyev said.

That is what scares me, the crackpots are now the most reliable for what is really happening.

A small fact I noticed a few months ago, when I found myself agreeing with something Alex Jones said, I then knew that i had stepped off the ledge.

If the so called main media had not sold their souls to the o, we would not be listening to the so called fringe news and knowing it to be far more accurate than the main stream media.

I am sure the the world has tilted and we are all falling off of it, one by one.

Gerald Celente is not someone that I know, so do not know how to take his information.

Thanks for the link.

Chapter 3-2 of Healing Foods by Walter Last
Find out what Vitamins do and if you have increased requirements for any of them

VITAMINS

Vitamins may be water-soluble or fat-soluble. Water-soluble vitamins are vitamin C and the B-group vitamins. Except for vitamin B12, they are easily absorbed, and deficiency is due a deficient diet or to increased requirements. Due to genetic factors or diseases some individuals may require up to hundred times the usual amounts to function normally. One common problem is a thickened or hardened membrane, preventing nutrients entering some organs, especially the eyes. An increased vitamin concentration in the blood ensures an increased supply to the organ. Being water-soluble a surplus of these vitamins is easily expelled through the kidneys, and any problem from overdosing is rare.

The fat-soluble vitamins, A, D, E and K, are more difficult to absorb. Deficiencies can easily arise even with an adequate diet. Many individuals, in particular those who have a dry skin and difficulty in gaining weight, have fat-malabsorption. A common cause is a sensitivity of the intestinal lining to gluten that resulted in the gradual erosion of the absorption villi. With this condition fat-soluble vitamins and other nutrients, such as beta-carotene, are not well absorbed and deficiencies result. These cannot normally be corrected by just taking fat-soluble supplements, such as halibut oil capsules for vitamins A and D. Instead, try to obtain and use water-soluble forms of these nutrients, such as vitamin A emulsions and vitamin E in tablet form.

In addition, you may frequently rub vitamin A or E oil from opened capsules onto your skin, and keep a halibut liver oil capsule under the tongue at bedtime for absorption overnight. Formerly it was common practice to give cod liver oil rubs to babies who did not thrive. This is also excellent for adults. In addition, expose your skin frequently to mild sunlight for increased vitamin D production.

Generally, it is best to obtain all necessary vitamins from natural foods and your intestinal bacteria. Under present conditions, however, it is rarely possible to achieve and maintain good health without using special vitamin-rich foods as well as vitamin supplements.

In the case of poor health, absorption of vitamins and minerals is impaired, while your internal requirements are simultaneously raised. This phenomenon underlies the widespread vitamin and mineral deficiencies in our society, which result in a multitude of disease symptoms.

The bacteria of our intestinal flora supply a considerable part of our B vitamins. Antibiotic therapy destroys these essential bacteria and may cause vitamin deficiencies. For this reason use fermented foods or cultures containing acidophilus and bifido bacteria as well as B-vitamin supplements whenever antibiotics are taken. Other widespread conditions causing persistent vitamin deficiencies and dependencies are deprivations during fetal development and in later life, acute and chronic infections, parasites and inefficient metabolism.

Humans cannot synthesize vitamin C, so they must obtain it from their food. Most animals produce their own vitamin C at a daily rate, equivalent, in terms of body weight, to 2-5 g (2000-5000 mg) for an adult human; under stress, up to 15-20 g are produced. This compares with 60 mg recommended for adults by government health agencies. Vitamin and mineral supplements may not be required for the maintenance of health or even the cure of most degenerative diseases, provided the diet is predominantly fresh and raw, based on sprouted seeds, grass and vegetable juice as well as high-quality nutrients such as pollen, spirulina and kelp.

Bowel-tolerance Vitamin C

This can be a successful treatment for infectious diseases, including viral infections, which do not respond to antibiotics. The dose of vitamin C is increased until the patient develops diarrhea. Then the rate is cut back slightly until the bowel just tolerates the high vitamin-C intake. During serious infections, the bowel tolerance is much greater than that of healthy people. In normal health, for example, the bowel tolerance is about 4-15 g per day. With a light cold it might be 20-30 g, and with a serious cold 60-100 g. Mononucleosis or viral hepatitis requires 40-60 g, gastroenteritis 60-150 g, and viral pneumonia more than 150 g. Less than the bowel-tolerance dose may not be effective. While this treatment is most effective for viral infections, it can also help with bacterial infections.

When you are taking these massive amounts, it is important to select the correct form of vitamin-C. If mainly ascorbic acid is used, the body becomes too acid or mineral deficient, while sodium ascorbate introduces too much sodium and calcium ascorbate too much calcium. If your blood pressure is approximately normal, you may take a mixture of ascorbic acid, sodium ascorbate and calcium ascorbate.

With low blood pressure use mainly sodium ascorbate with calcium ascorbate. With high blood pressure potassium and magnesium ascorbate combined with ascorbic acid is best. You may neutralize some of the ascorbic acid with potassium bicarbonate and magnesium carbonate or magnesium oxide. In the end, the solution should taste slightly acid. You may dissolve the vitamin C in water, herb tea or juices.

Depending on the severity of the condition, take vitamin C at one or two-hourly intervals. Do not continue self-treatment at bowel-tolerance level for more than a few weeks, and in serious cases only under professional guidance or supervision. The high vitamin C intake should be reduced gradually to a preliminary maintenance dose of 3-10 g. A sudden withdrawal of all vitamin C may cause the return of colds, allergies or fatigue.

In addition to bowel-tolerance vitamin-C, take other infection-fighting nutrients, such as L-lysine, zinc, selenium, propolis, vitamin A, and therapeutic doses of other vitamins and minerals. Two or three liters of water or diluted drinks need to be taken daily during bowel-tolerance treatment. The diet should be light, consisting mainly of fruits in over-alkaline conditions or, in acid conditions, rice, sprouts and salads.

This treatment is not suitable with serious kidney disease or if it causes water retention/edema. Initially, treatment of life-threatening diseases or emergencies may be supported with daily or weekly injections of sodium ascorbate, given intravenously in 3 % solution. Many degenerative diseases associated with a weak immune system, for example, autoimmune diseases, cancer and multiple sclerosis, may benefit from intermittent periods of bowel-tolerance vitamin-C treatment. This method is also useful for accidental poisoning, and bites of poisonous snakes and insects.

SUMMARY OF VITAMINS

In the following compilation ‘RDA’ means recommended daily allowance as determined by the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Research Council (US). A second RDA value is for women.

‘IU’ means International Units. Commonly not all of the listed deficiency symptoms are manifested, symptoms appear first in the weakest organs. 1 g = 1000 mg, 1 mg = 1000 mcg.

Oil-soluble Vitamins

Vitamin A

Retinol, carotene. 1 mcg retinol = 6 mcg beta-carotene = 3 IU; RDA 5000/4000 IU; therapeutic 25,000-100,000 IU, especially in cancer treatment and for eye diseases. One halibut-oil capsule provides 4000 to 5000 IU. It is toxic in very high doses over long periods; destroyed by light and oxygen. Symptoms of vitamin-A toxicity are similar to those of vitamin A deficiency. Do not take very high doses without professional supervision. Long-term oversupply can lead to bone erosion due to a relative deficiency of vitamin D. Therefore supply vitamins A and D together, preferably as cod liver oil otherwise halibut liver oil. With malabsorption tablets or emulsion are easier to absorb.

DEFICIENCY SYMPTOMS Eyes dry, infected and sensitive to bright light, night blindness, poor dark adjustment, colorblindness, glaucoma. Skin dry, rough, horny, scaly; pimples, acne, psoriasis. Hair dry, falling or dull. Nails longitudinal ridges, peeling, brittle. Smell and taste poor, distorted. Respiratory infections, lung problems, ear problems, deafness, hearing noises, cancer, thyroid overactive, underweight.

BEST SOURCES Fish-liver oils, liver, butter, egg yolk. Yellow-orange vegetables and green juice are high in beta-carotene, which some individuals can and others cannot efficiently convert into vitamin A.

Vitamin D

Cholecalciferol (D3, preferable) or ergocalciferol (D2, less effective, synthetic, can be toxic in high doses over long periods). 1 IU = 0.025 mg cholecalciferol. RDA 200 IU; therapeutic up to 4000 IU.

DEFICIENCY SYMPTOMS Rickets; weak, deformed and porous bones; teeth and gum problems; muscular weakness; convulsions, cramps, tetany, nervous instability, underactive thyroid, multiple sclerosis, depression, overweight, eye problems; symptoms of calcium deficiency.

BEST SOURCES Sun exposure, fish-liver oils, egg yolk.

Vitamin E

Tocopherol (mainly used as d-alpha tocopherol, preferably combined with mixed tocopherols, or vitamin E complex with tocotrienols). RDA 15/12 IU; therapeutic up to 3000 mg (or IU). In research by US scientists mainly the ineffective synthetic d,l form has been used. Patients with heart problems or high blood pressure should increase the dose slowly. Destroyed by oxygen, chlorinated water, inorganic iron supplements, estrogen drugs.

DEFICIENCY SYMPTOMS Disorders of the reproductive and circulatory systems, stroke, heart disease, leg pains, cramps, poor wound healing, pronounced scar tissue, muscle weakness, chronic fatigue, tender breasts, arthritis, cancer, eye and ear problems, gangrene, infections, hot flushes, malabsorption, multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, phlebitis, skin problems, varicose veins.

BEST SOURCES Cold-pressed oils (wheatgerm oil), rice polishings, sprouted seeds, nuts, egg yolk, green leaves, grass juice.

Vitamin K

RDA 80/60 mcg, therapeutic 5 – 15 mg. Destroyed by light, acid and alkaline conditions.

Essential for normal blood clotting to prevent hemorrhaging. Deficiency causes frequent, prolonged or severe bleeding, easy bruising and menstrual clots as well as nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. It is also needed for bone formation or to prevent osteoporosis, tooth decay, calcium deposits and hardening of tissues and arteries. Injections of vitamin K derived from plant sources were as effective as morphine for pain control.

Obtained from intestinal bacteria, green and especially dark-green vegetables , liver, egg yolk. Vitamin K1 from plants is more effective than that from intestinal bacteria, the synthetic form (K3) can have toxic effects.

Water-Soluble Vitamins

These are easily lost in cooking and are not stored in the body (except B12).

Vitamin B1

Thiamine; also known as aneurin. RDA 1.5/1.1 mg; therapeutic 50-3000 mg. Destroyed by heat, sugar, alcohol, smoking. Deficiency may arise from lack of gastric acid.

DEFICIENCY SYMPTOMS Poor circulation with cold hands and feet; edema (fluid retention); tongue furrowed; underactive thyroid; fatigue, depression, insomnia, anxiety, over-sensitivity to pain and noise, nausea, poor memory, apathy, debility, weight loss; muscles weak and painful, especially the legs, starting with numb, burning feet, later affecting calves and thighs, may result in paralysis. Severe gastrointestinal disturbances. Tachycardia (fast pulse) and dyspnoea (breathlessness) on exertion, brachycardia (slow pulse) at rest, enlarged and weak heart. Mental illness, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, hypoglycemia, allergies, addictions - drugs, alcohol. Severe deficiency known as beriberi.

BEST SOURCES Food yeast, rice bran, sunflower and sesame seeds, peanuts, millet, grains.

Vitamin B2

Riboflavin. RDA 1.7/1.3 mg; therapeutic 50-1500 mg. Destroyed by light, makes urine bright yellow.

Skin oily and itching; eczema, especially around nose, forehead, ears, scrotum and vagina; redness of part of face (rosacea), acne, bedsores, purplish skin parts. Hair dull, oily, dandruff, split nails. Tongue sore, burning, magenta purplish; cracks on lips and corners of mouth (cheilosis). Allergies, anemia, arthritis, cancer, diabetes.

BEST SOURCES Food yeast, liver, kidney, almonds, sprouted seeds, grass juice.

Niacin and Nicotinamide

Formerly known as vitamin B3 (USA) or B5 (UK). RDA 19/15 mg, therapeutic up to 30 g in schizophrenia. The acid form - niacin or nicotinic acid - causes flushing of the face. It is prescribed to dilate blood vessels, to decrease blood pressure, reduce cholesterol, to increase circulation to the head in cases of acne or migraine. The non-acid nicotinamide or niacinamide does not have these effects, though - in contrast to niacin - high amounts may cause depression. Niacin or nicotinamide improve the oxidative energy metabolism and may be used to treat the following symptoms.

DEFICIENCY SYMPTOMS Schizophrenia; hyperthyroidism, protruding eyes, depression, irritability, overactivity, crying spells, suspicion, loss of humor, delusions, anxiety, insomnia, confusion. Tongue strawberry-tipped or bright red, shiny, ‘raw beef’ appearance. Mouth displays sores, canker, ulcerated corners. Skin rough, red; brown, often symmetrical discoloration on cheeks, neck and back of hands. Dermatitis with ulcerations, aggravated by exposure to sun. Headache, backache, fatigue, loss of weight and appetite. Lack of gastric acid, anemia. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. Painful, stiff joints, arthritis, cancer. Changed sense perceptions; pellagra (cracking of skin).

BEST SOURCES Food yeast, peanuts, rice bran, liver.

Pantothenic Acid

Calcium pantothenate, vitamin B5; RDA 4/7 mg; therapeutic 50-1500 mg.

DEFICIENCY SYMPTOMS Tongue beefy, enlarged, furrowed; fatigue, depression, insomnia, graying hair, burning feet, arthritis, alcoholism, asthma, cancer, cataracts, epilepsy, psoriasis, stress, diseases of the digestive and nervous systems, adrenal weakness.

Skin oily, with eczema and urticaria (nettle rash or hives); edema (fluid retention), vomiting, halitosis, lack of gastric acid, muscle weakness, anemia, kidney stones. Pain, stiffness and swellings of fingers and joints; fingers and toes become white (Raynaud’s disease). Autism, caries (tooth or bone decay), diabetes, Parkinsonism. Diseases of the digestive and nervous systems.

BEST SOURCES Food yeast, molasses, bran, sunflower seeds, rice, liver, egg yolk, nuts, beans, bananas.

Biotin

RDA 0.3 mg. Necessary for protein and fat metabolism as well as for healthy hair.

DEFICIENCY SYMPTOMS Digestive, nervous, skin and hair problems; anemia, fatigue, depression, hallucinations.

BEST SOURCES Food yeast, rice bran. Usually from intestinal bacteria, except after antibiotics.

Folic Acid

RDA 0.2/0.18 mg; recommended at least 0.4 mg, 0.8 mg in pregnancy; therapeutic 5-20 mg. Easily destroyed by light, heat, storage, oxygen, contraceptive pill.

DEFICIENCY SYMPTOMS Widespread. Most pregnant women are deficient. Anemia; corners of mouth crack, red tongue, graying hair, grayish-brown skin pigmentation. Irritability, depression, fatigue, forgetfulness, lack of concentration, insomnia, dizziness, depressed reflexes, headaches. Muscle weakness, pain, numbness in legs, difficulty in walking, cramps. Digestive problems - constipation, diarrhea. Sexual and circulation problems, cervical cancer, hypoglycemia, birth defects, gout, cardiovascular disease, diabetes.

BEST SOURCES Grass juice, yeast, sprouts, dark-green leaves, liver.

Vitamin B12

Cobalamin. RDA 2 mcg =0.002 mg; therapeutic 1000 mcg by injection, especially in debility and after stomach operations. Most patients with lack of energy respond extremely well to vitamin B12 injections, even if laboratory tests show a normal vitamin B12 blood level. In poor health B12 is not well absorbed, calcium and hydrochloric acid improve absorption, commonly tablets are absorbed under the tongue, even better is absorption through the nasal mucosa –at bedtime rub a drop of vitamin B12 from an opened ampoule into each nostril.

DEFICIENCY SYMPTOMS Pernicious anemia, chronic fatigue, debility, poor circulation, numbness and stiffness; very red, sore tongue; emotional disturbances, mental illness, cancer, liver and nervous system diseases, nerve inflammations, paralysis.

Allergies (asthma, hayfever, bee stings, epilepsy, headaches, rashes).

BEST SOURCES Fresh fruits and vegetables, sprouted seeds, rosehips, grass juice.

Vitamin-like Substances

These are necessary biochemical substances which have not yet been awarded full vitamin status by government agencies, partly because some can be synthesized within the body, and partly because their usefulness is still disputed.

Bioflavonoids

Bioflavonoids are part of the naturally occurring vitamin-C complex. Deficiency causes capillary fragility with purplish or blue skin marks, inflammation, gum bleeding and inner ear pain. Bioflavonoids are necessary for the proper functioning of vitamin C. Best sources are flower petals, sprouted seeds and fresh vegetables, fresh fruits and the residue of juiced citrus fruits. The best known members of this group are quercetin and rutin, rutin is found in concentrated form in dried buckwheat leaves and flowers.

Choline and Inositol

Important for the absorption and metabolism of fats and cholesterol, for the synthesis of lecithin, for liver and gall bladder function and for the formation and function of brain and nerves (transmission of nerve impulses, myelin sheaths). They are helpful in the treatment of arteriosclerosis and atherosclerosis, asthma, diabetes (inositol), glaucoma, hair problems and baldness, high blood pressure, insomnia (inositol), liver diseases, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, neuritis, tardive dyskinesia (choline).

Choline is best supplied by lecithin, while other good sources are egg yolk, liver, brain and food yeast. Inositol is best supplied by sprouted seeds (in unsprouted seeds it remains unavailable in the form of phytic acid). Other good sources are heart, brain, liver, food yeast, cabbage and citrus fruits.

PABA (Para-amine-benzoic Acid)

A growth-promoting factor, deficiency contributes to white skin patches, eczema, graying hair, fatigue. As a lotion it is excellent for protecting the skin against ultraviolet radiation. It is obtained from food yeast, liver, egg yolk, and is also synthesized by intestinal bacteria. As a supplement, the soluble potassium salt of PABA is preferable to the almost insoluble acid itself.

Vitamin B15 (Pangamic Acid)

Occurs in seeds, grains and nuts; it protects against oxygen deficiencies (similar to vitamin E). It has been successfully used in the treatment of alcoholism, allergies, arthritis; autism, breathing problems such as asthma and emphysema, diabetes and hypoglycemia, heart problems (cardiovascular diseases), and premature aging. The usual therapeutic dose is 50-100 mg two or three times daily.

Vitamin B17 (Amygdalin or Nitrilosides)

Contains a cyanide ingredient that is harmful to cancer cells. It is most effective for preventing cancer if taken regularly by eating a few bitter seeds of stone fruits or pip fruits (for example, apricot, bitter almond, apple). Other good sources are sprouted seeds, alfalfa, mung beans, millet, and lentils. Professionally, a purified product, known as laetrile, is used orally or as injections for cancer treatment (now illegal in the USA). To be effective, laetrile must be used in conjunction with cleansing, supplements and correct diet.

SWINE FLU
If you are concerned about catching the Swine Flu or any Flu then now is the time to prepare. The main protective measures are:
1. Use a high amount of antioxidants or simply just take 2 grams or half a teaspoon of vitamin C with most meals

2. Do the Ultimate Cleanse to greatly enhance your immune system

3. Increase your intake of fresh fruit and vegetables and cut down on convenience foods

4. Fear/worry weakens the immune system, instead protect yourself and feel safe.

If you do contract the flu use short high doses of MMS (see the Ultimate Cleanse and the two MMS articles below) followed by a very high intake of antioxidants and fresh raw fruit and vegetables until recovered. For further information see the article Bird Flu Protection.

PROLOGUE

As far as the sciences have evolved in our incredible age of quantum
physics and our understanding of cell biology, life is still an indefinable
mystery. Only Mother Nature can make an apple. Only nature can make a cell.
While scientists and chemists continue to try in vain to duplicate in a
laboratory the molecular structure of many different isolated natural substances.
When you analyze natural compounds with an electron microscope they can
look identical, yet in some invisible, yet significant, way they are not.
Although scientists can make seawater with exactly the same chemical structure
as natural seawater, when you put a salt-water fish in this synthetic
environment, the fish dies. What is it in natural seawater that sustains life?
This is one of life’s great mysteries, and the foundation upon which this
book is inspired.

The creation of life is a divine gift that can never be duplicated by man;
it is beyond human intellect. This is why no living thing, whether a plant
or human cell, or a living being for this matter, can be created
successfully in a laboratory from chemical compounds. Animal clones have already
proven their fallibility. Living things such as living foods and living beings
can only be created by nature.

VITA means life. Vita defines the difference between synthetic and what is
now known as naturally occurring. This book is about the consequences of
this difference in our vitamins and nutritional supplements today, and is
further dedicated to helping you understand their impact on your health and
how you can become equipped to avoid unhealthful choices and benefit from
healthy whole-food choices (N.O.S. - Naturally Occurring Standard -
varieties).

Putting the word *natural* on the vitamin label is, in most cases today,
deceptive. The word is constantly abused and, as such, its meaning has been
diluted to a point where it holds little value. Many misleading labels on
supplement products take advantage of the ambiguity of the word *natural* to
project a wholesome marketing image, even when the product does not merit
it. Whereas the term *naturally occurring* on a label usually means that a
vitamin or nutrient is completely derived of compounds from
naturally-occurring sources - the plants themselves - rather than merely containing a
naturally-occurring ingredient mixed with synthetic ingredients.

The best vitamin supplements are those with labeled potencies derived from
naturally-occurring, full-spectrum food extracts. Naturally-occurring
vitamins are obtained by taking a nutrient-rich plant, removing the water and
the fiber in a chemical-free vacuum process, and packaging it for stability.
The entire vitamin complex is captured intact, retaining its functional and
nutritional integrity, and a full spectrum of nutritional values.

Another primary difference between real full-spectrum whole-food vitamins
and synthetic vitamins is that real vitamins contain the essential trace
minerals necessary for the vitamins’ synergistic operation. Synthetic
vitamins contain no trace minerals and must utilize the body*s own mineral
reserves. Ingesting real vitamins does not require the body to deplete its own
reserves of nutrients to replace any nutrients missing from the false vitamins.

Mega doses of synthetic vitamins can have very serious toxic effects.
Naturally-occurring whole-food vitamins are not toxic since the vitamin is
complexed in its natural whole integral working form, and requires nothing from
the body to *build* a vitamin. When synthetic, or incomplete vitamins are
introduced into the body, the body attempts to *build* a complete vitamin
complex by adding the missing factors that it knows should be there,
specifically minerals and other vitamin co-factors. This *building* process
depletes the body*s nutritional reserves, creating an overall deficiency. The
body has a natural intelligence that is always directing its efforts toward
wholeness. When you ingest a *partial* or isolated vitamin, the body assumes
you meant to ingest a whole vitamin, and works hard to make up for an
action that it views as a mistake. Of course, the body has limitations. When it
is saturated or overwhelmed with large amounts of synthetic vitamins or
does not possess the cofactors necessary for creating fully-complexed
supplements, it cannot convert the incomplete synthetic vitamins. It will then
work to eliminate the synthetic vitamins through the kidneys, skin and the
other elimination organs. This is the reason why the majority of all synthetic
vitamins are quickly eliminated by the body and not utilized. We require
our bodies to perform a surprising amount of work when we ingest synthetic
supplements. Not only must we effort to create a usable supplement by
drawing on our own reserves, we must also labor to eliminate the substances that
cannot be utilized. This process results in an overall negative health
effect while minimizing any gains that could have been achieved by the
supplement were it in a usable form to begin with. This is why consuming whole
foods and whole-food supplements is critical.

One of the many superior qualities about naturally-occurring whole food
vitamins is that small or even minimal quantities are required daily because
they are already whole, naturally-complexed supplements that the body does
not have to *build* to utilize. On the contrary, one would typically need to
ingest much larger doses of synthetic supplements to receive a sufficient
level of supplementation, knowing that many of the complexes will not be
*completed* and therefore eliminated.

Mainstream marketing of vitamins and minerals has created the myth that
synthetic vitamins and inorganic minerals may be isolated individually and
from one another, and that we can derive total natural benefit from taking
these fractionated chemical creations. Nothing could be further from the
truth!

Real, natural vitamins, minerals and enzymes work closely together as
co-factors for each other*s efficacy. If one part is missing, or is
fractionated, or is in the incorrect form or the incorrect amount, entire chains of
metabolic processes cannot and will not proceed normally. Only nature can
provide us with naturally-occurring vitamins as found in real, wholesome
organic foods.

The overwhelming majority of vitamin products sold in grocery stores, drug
stores or mass-marketing retailers contain synthetic ingredients, and are
unfortunately accompanied by inherent deficiencies and unpleasant
ramifications.

What our bodies require are supplement products made exclusively from
naturally-occurring nutrients rather than toxic laboratory synthesized
compounds. Currently only a few highly conscious companies produce supplements with
naturally-occurring ingredients. These companies should be commended and
supported for offering natural health-promoting products to the consumer.
(See list of “Supplement product companies that include naturally-occurring
potencies on their labels” in Appendix A).

We are grateful to the Naturally Occurring Standards Group (NOSG), Amsar
Pvt. Ltd., Treadcorp, Ltd., Hippocrates Health Institute, Healthful
Communications, Inc., Organic Consumer’s Association, and others for their efforts
in establishing “Naturally Occurring” as a specific standard of quality.
This standard should be applied for all truly natural vitamins, ingredients
and materials for the entire food, beverage, nutraceutical, and cosmetic
industry. The adoption of proposed “Naturally Occurring Standard” (NOS)
guidelines will bring clarity to all purveyors and consumers of natural products.
The NOS is an important step and regulatory guideline that has been missing
from the product label information and literature since the beginning of
packaged food sales. The NOS symbol on products will help to eliminate the
confusion between truly natural and less than natural product ingredients.

We need more naturally-occurring vitamin supplements to counter the vast
array of harmful synthetic vitamin supplements flooding our world markets.
Consumers must request the production of more naturally-occurring supplements
by petitioning the natural foods industry to support the NOS guidelines,
which will ensure that the public is only supplied with health-promoting
products. This will mark the beginning of a movement to remove synthetic
supplements from our health foods and supplements. The natural foods industry is
the last place that synthetics should be allowed. Unfortunately, due to
ignorance and economic inertia, even the natural foods industry has, until
now, tolerated the presence of harmful synthetic supplements. Real nutrients
are always naturally occurring, made only by nature and never by an
artificial chemical process.

Insisting that the designation *naturally-occurring* be put only on the
labels of naturally-occurring vitamin and nutrient supplements, will allow the
consumer to once and for all distinguish between what is a real vitamin
supplement and what is not. For more information on the NOS guidelines and
the proposed legislation visit _www.nosg.org_ (http://www.nosg.org) .

PART ONE - VITAMIN MYSTERIES AND MYTHS

CHAPTER ONE

Nutritional Supplements - do we really benefit from them?

To answer this question we have to go back to our roots - our soil.

Soil depletion - an apple isn*t what it used to be

Why not?

Missing vitamins & trace elements

What are vitamins? Brief definition

Fat vs. water-soluble vitamins

Difference between vitamins and vitamin activity

Difference between natural vs. synthetic

Each year in North American alone people spend over $20 billion on
vitamins, minerals and other dietary supplements, believing that these products
are benefiting them. But are they? What is the real truth about vitamins? If
we eat a balanced diet, do we really need nutritional supplements? To
answer this question we have to go back to our roots - our soil.

The body is unable to manufacture most vitamins for itself, and so they
must be obtained from nutritional sources. During the early 1900s, in our
grandparents’ time, the soil was rich with nutrients that produced healthy,
vigorous crops high in vitamin content. Today, due to modern factory farming
practices, our soils are sadly laced with industrial pollution, pesticides
and chemical fertilizers that not only contaminate the soil, but activate
increased soil erosion. Because of poor soil quality and nutrients, our foods
have only a fraction of the nutrient value of 70-100 years ago.

Polluted air and water systems deplete our bodies of their store of
nutrients, such as antioxidants including vitamins and minerals, that are
necessary for protecting our health. Add the stresses of modern life to this and
as a population we are left with ever-weakening genetic and immune systems.
Therefore, vitamin and nutrient supplementation is more crucial than before.

The mineral depletion of our soils and foods is not news. The U.S.
government has been issuing official warnings since 1936. The U.S. Senate Document
#264, published by the 2nd session of the 74th Congress in 1936 stated the
following:

**Most of us today are suffering from certain dangerous diet deficiencies
which cannot be remedied until the depleted soils from which our foods come
are brought [back] into proper mineral balance. Foods, fruits, vegetables
and grains that are now being raised on millions of acres of land that no
longer contain enough of certain needed minerals, are starving us - no
matter how much of these foods we eat. Leading authorities state that 99% of the
American people are deficient in these minerals, and that a marked
deficiency in any one of the more important minerals actually results in disease.
Any upset of the balance or any considerable lack of one or another
element, however microscopic, causes problems and we sicken, suffer, and shorten
our lives. Lacking vitamins, the system can make some use of minerals; but
lacking minerals, vitamins are useless.**

This report was offered over 70 years ago. Just imagine how it would read
today.

Unfortunately, we all have a big job ahead to restore our soil quality -
even on organic farms - and bring back the nutrients that have been farmed
out of our food. It is urgent that we reintroduce proper organic farming as
the primary method, as well as the rotation of crops to improve the quality
of our soils, among other benefits. It has taken many decades to ruin our
soils and it will take time to revive them and bring them back to health
again. It can be and must be done for ourselves, our children and future
generations.

As world citizens we can transform our farmlands; one very simple way is
by purchasing organic foods and supporting organic farming. In the meantime,
the way to guarantee adequate nutrition is by supplementing our foods with
naturally-occurring, non-synthetic vitamin and nutrients from organic farms
that focus on soil conservation.

VITAMINS for VITALITY

What is a vitamin?

Vitamins are organic micronutrients essential to normal human metabolism.
Unlike fats, carbohydrates and some proteins, vitamins are not metabolized
to provide energy. Most are not manufactured by the body but are present in
minute quantities in natural foodstuffs. Each of these naturally-occurring
organic vitamin compounds performs a specific vital function and is
required by the body for disease prevention and good health.

The known vitamins are divided into four fat-soluble types (A, D, E and K)
and nine water-soluble types (eight B vitamins and vitamin C). The
fat-soluble vitamins can be stored in the body and do not need to be ingested
every day. The water-soluble vitamins are more easily eliminated and can be
taken in larger amounts without danger of toxicity. Vitamin C and the eight B
vitamins (except for Vitamin B-12 and Folic Acid) are water soluble. They
cannot be stored and must be consumed frequently for optimal health.

As an initial convention, vitamins were given letters to go with their
chemically defined names. Not many people know about the form of vitamin E
d-alpha tocopheryl succinate, but most people know what *Vitamin E* is and what
it can be used for. Some nutritional factors were originally given *B*
names but turned out not to act as vitamins at all. You may not have heard of
vitamins B-4, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 which were ultimately rejected as vitamin
factors.

We know that vitamins prevent disease and promote health, but what do we
know about the actual quality of the vitamins we ingest? Hundreds of millions
of people take a daily vitamin and/or herbal supplement. For more than 70
years we have been ingesting synthetic vitamins in our supplements and our
fortified foods, believing that our health is being protected and improved.
But is it?

Let*s get down to the truth about vitamin supplementation and food
fortification. There are currently two categories in the family of vitamin and
nutritional products with labeled potencies - synthetic and
naturally-occurring.

Nearly all vitamin supplements available today, more than 95%, fall into
the synthetic category. Some consist of 100% synthesized vitamins, and some
are combination formulas containing one or more naturally-occurring vitamin
ingredients combined with synthetic vitamins. Naturally-occurring vitamin
supplements are comprised only of naturally-occurring food and botanicals.
They contain no synthetic vitamins or nutrients whatsoever. Presently there
are few manufacturers of this type of vitamin supplement.

Synthetic vitamin supplements packaged as tablets, capsules, gelcaps, or
powders comprise the majority of vitamin products found in natural food
stores, grocery stores, drug stores and large retail outlets. Within this
category there are certain types and distinctions.

Type 1:
In some vitamin supplement products a natural base is used and then the
synthetic vitamins or nutrients are added to that natural base. An example of
a natural base could be Acerola cherry or Rosehip, and even a mixture of
botanicals, as a natural base with the synthetic vitamins and nutrients
added. Many Vitamin C products which claim to be from Acerola or some other
fruit or food are usually spiked with synthetic ascorbic acid or ascorbates.
Many multiple vitamin products use a natural base spiked with multiple
synthetic vitamins to get their labeled potencies.

Type 2:
Some supplements are derived from specially *grown* materials (referred to
as *food source* or *whole food* source) such as yeasts and algae. These
products typically combine the yeast or algae and create other *mixtures* as
a base to which synthetic vitamins are *spiked* or added. Manufacturers
call these supplements *natural* because they are derived from yeast or algae
- natural botanicals. However, they are not natural because synthetic
vitamins or nutrients have been added to the product. This is most often not
mentioned on the product label and is *hidden* from consumers, most of whom,
ironically, are reading labels to ensure the highest levels of nutrition.
Tragically, they fall prey to misleading and dishonest labeling information.

A manufacturer of this cultivated base which has been spiked with
synthetics nutrients will supply their own as well as other supplement companies
with this raw substance. They then use the raw substance to produce and market
their own vitamins under different product names. The fact that this raw
material contains a cultivated, so-called “natural” base enables the vitamin
producers to make the claim on their label that they are derived from
*natural sources* on their label and contain the listed potencies from the
*food source* referring to the base. But as you can now see this is a deceptive
practice that misleads consumers to believe that they have a natural
supplement.

Most vitamin companies compete for customers with identical synthetic
vitamin products made from compounds produced by the same few drug
manufacturers. The vitamin companies differentiate their products with different names
and fancy labels, each making claims of *high potency*. But the higher the
potency of the synthetic vitamin or nutrient, the more likely it is to
exhibit drug-like, toxic effects, the stress of which can actually lead to
disease.

The majority of vitamin companies also purposely mislead the consumer by
taking advantage of loopholes in labeling laws. The truth is that the vitamin
potencies for most supplements are derived from synthetic vitamins.

Consumers are fooled by the vitamin label claims and believe that the
vitamin and nutrient potencies are derived from a natural source. You can avoid
this trap by carefully examining the label. Look for the phrase *naturally
occurring.* If the label does not say *naturally occurring* and also name
the food source of the potency, then be aware that the supplement may
contain synthetic vitamins or nutrients. Please go to our website _www.NOSG.org_
(http://www.NOSG.org) for a list of companies that are leading the way in
NOSG certification, and to see how you can help reverse the tide of
deception and take part in this exciting shift in consciousness, which includes
mandates for truth in labeling.

The second category of vitamin supplements are derived from
naturally-occurring full-spectrum food and botanical sources. These are truly natural
vitamin potency supplement products and can be identified by their designation
**naturally occurring** or Naturally Occurring Standard (NOS).

Although vitamins from naturally-occurring sources are relatively lower
potency, they are actually much more effective at these lower potencies than
synthetic vitamins, for the simple reason that the body can easily
assimilate their nutrients, and can do so without the toxic side-effects of
synthetic vitamins.

Over the past two decades at Hippocrates Health Institute, we have seen
the negative impact of synthetic supplements by viewing tens of thousands of
blood samples with the assistance of a high-powered microscope. What we know
is that the body perceives a synthetic supplement like it would perceive
any other foreign chemical as an invader and threat to its survival. As
such, it responds by releasing immune-preserving cells such as leukocytes
(white blood cells) to combat the enemy and preserve immunity. Unfortunately,
this extra activity detracts these cells from their most crucial role of
eliminating microbes (viruses and bacteria), spirochetes (such as those that
result in Lyme’s Disease), and mutagenic cells (such as those that can result
in cancer). Consequently, when one introduces a large number of chemical
invaders, such as synthetic vitamin supplements, there are fewer
immune-preserving cells to combat more deleterious cell activity, resulting in a
greater probability for disease.

Just as natural vitamins from food are more effective than synthetic
vitamins, so are natural vitamin supplements from whole-food sources. Low
potency vitamins from a full spectrum, naturally-occurring source of the vitamin
will produce effective nutrient activity, while positively impacting immune
function.

A MOLECULAR DIFFERENCE

Vitamins are biological complexes. They represent multi-step biochemical
interactions whose beneficial action depends upon a number of variables
within the biological terrain. Correct vitamin activity can only take place
when all co-factors and components of the vitamin complex are present and
working together synergistically. Vitamins cannot be isolated from their
complexes and still perform their specific functions within the cells. When
isolated into artificial chemical commercial forms, these purified, isolated,
crystalline synthetics act the same as toxic drugs in the body and compromise
the immune system, which can ultimately lead to illness and disease. They
are no longer actual vitamins, and to call them such is inaccurate. A
vitamin is: **a working process consisting of the nutrient, enzymes, coenzymes,
antioxidants, and trace mineral activators.** - Dr. Royal Lee

Theron Randolph, MD wrote four books and over 300 medical articles and was
a leading researcher in the fields of food and chemical allergies, as well
as general preventive care. Dr. Randolph co-founded the American Academy
of Environmental Medicine in 1965. Consider the way he has delineated the
difference between natural and synthetic nutrients:

**A synthetically-derived substance may cause a reaction in a chemically
susceptible person when the same material of natural origin is tolerated,
despite the two substances having identical chemical structures. The point is
illustrated by the frequency of clinical reactions to synthetic vitamins -
especially vitamin B1 and [vitamin] C when the [same] naturally-occurring
vitamins are tolerated.**

Certain studies on natural vs. synthetic vitamins have shown that synthetic
vitamins are 50 to 70% less biologically active than natural vitamins.

Synthetic vitamins are actually just fractions of naturally-occurring
vitamins synthesized in the dextro- and levo- forms (known as *right* and *left
handed* molecules) which form geometric mirror images of each other. It
may seem strange, but the geometry of nutrient compounds is crucial for the
bioavailability of the nutrient. The body uses only the levo- forms.
Synthetic vitamin compounds have little of the correct geometry (levo-forms) of
naturally-occurring vitamins present in food and botanicals.

So, can a synthesized, isolated vitamin fraction made in the laboratory be
called a real vitamin? Can it provide you with the nourishment that
naturally-occurring, whole-food supplements can? The answer is a resounding and
undeniable NO!

Throughout much of the last century, we have been programmed to believe
that synthetic chemicals are superior to natural food-source nutritional
substances, and therefore an acceptable substitute. This misleading concept is
broadcasted mainly by commercial interests who promote this fallacy through
sophisticated marketing programs to sell and profit from their inferior
**food and nutritional** supplements.

The problems we now have with these synthetic vitamins are parallel to the
overall problems we have with pharmaceutical drugs and the development of
*modern*, alopathic medicine.

In Western cultures, we have abandoned our history of traditional medicine
- medicine that has been practiced successfully for thousands of years -
and nearly categorically replaced it with new technologies. We are now
suffering the consequences of it.

Although chemistry has provided us with many benefits, when it comes to
food and nutrition, a better life through chemistry is a fallacy.

We are now in the midst of a chemical *feast* of harmful and polluting
chemical preservatives, excipients, colorings, flavorings, additives, and other
life-threatening chemicals.

A century ago when we discovered how to chemically synthesize various
isolates of natural compounds, synthetic nutrients became fashionable. Many of
the problems that we have today developed many years ago when we embraced
the chemical paradigm and rejected our time-proven traditional medicinal
practices. It is imperative now that we return to our traditional values and
ways of living before the hazardous imbalances we have created destroy us.

VITAMIN ACTIVITY & BIOAVAILABILITY

Why is it that only Nature can create a real vitamin?
The differences between vitamins extracted from food and those manufactured
by chemical processes is vast, and the distinctions are critically
important. Vitamins manufactured in the laboratory come to us without the
naturally occurring associated factors and trace substances that insure a vitamin*s
bioavailability. If the body can easily digest and absorb nutrients from a
food, then they are said to be bioavailable. Tests on natural vs.
synthetic vitamins have revealed that synthetic vitamins are less biologically
active and bioavailable than natural vitamins. Since our bodies often do not
absorb more than 50% of the vitamins and minerals we consume, to ingest a
product that is already less active than its natural counterpart leaves very
little of the original potency available for our use.

It sounds like a simple concept: you are what you digest or, more to the
point, what you assimilate.

The digestive system of humans, similar to that of apes, grazing animals
and other herbivores, is complex. The adult alimentary canal measures up to
36 feet; it is long and convoluted. Yet it squeezes into the small space of
our abdominal cavity. Many of us assume that we have good and proper
digestion and assimilation, and that our bodies can extract nutrients no matter
what we eat. This is simply not true, which is why it is important for us to
eat wholesome and nutritious foods and maintain high levels of good
intestinal flora and other living bacteria that break down our foods completely
so that our nutrients can be absorbed.

Furthermore, the human biology has never been able to *digest* synthetic
chemicals.

Even though we may voluntarily or involuntarily ingest synthetic
chemicals, our digestive systems have not suddenly changed to recognize them as food
or nourishment. All the synthetic nutrients in the world are useless, and
potentially even dangerous, if they are not digested. The best way to
improve digestive absorption of nutrients is to eat good nutrient-rich, living
foods and use naturally-occurring vitamins and mineral supplements.

You are what you digest also means that if your digestion is weak, then
you absorb fewer nutrients from your food than necessary, which can lead to
obesity or other imbalances. When enjoying quality foods, the health of your
body and all of its systems are strengthened.

Research with polarized light shows the differences in bioavailability
between synthetic and natural vitamins. The experiment involves taking a
sample of a natural vitamin and its chemically identical synthetic counterpart,
and passing a beam of polarized light through each. The beam passing
through a natural vitamin always bends to the right due to the direction of its
molecular rotation. When passing through a synthetic vitamin, the beam
splits in half. Half the light beam bends to the right, and the other half bends
to the left. The direction of the molecular rotation makes half of the
synthetic vitamin impossible to use, which is why there is only 50% biological
activity or less in synthetic, isolated vitamins. They are lacking the
factors found in a full-spectrum real vitamin and more importantly they are
not viewed by the body as real nutrition, and are therefore counterproductive
to health.

Even if the vitamins you take are *natural* ones extracted from food, they
will not be effective if they have been extracted from their full-spectrum
matrix. Extracting a vitamin from its full-spectrum matrix eliminates the
necessary co-factors which assist in the functioning of that nutrient. When
you extract and isolate Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) from an orange, you are
also removing the bioflavonoids, which are necessary for Vitamin C*s
complete vitamin activity. It*s better to use a full-spectrum concentrate of the
whole orange rather than to extract the ascorbic acid or other isolated
Vitamin C fractions or to take those factors separately.

For a complex matrix like Vitamin C to be effective, it has to be used as
nature created it. Always use a full-spectrum food source supplement of
Vitamin C and other supplements to insure that all the naturally-occurring
nutrient factors are available to your body.

Worldwide, there is no official government-regulated definition for the
term *natural* for use by the natural products industry. In the USA, the FDA
refers to natural ingredients as **ingredients extracted directly from
plants or animal products, as opposed to being produced synthetically.** While
it*s fine to set a legal definition for natural, the problem is that the
FDA*s system of standards for vitamins is not based on nature. This system,
known as the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) or what has now been updated
to **Daily Values** (DV’s) and RDI*s (Recommended Daily Intake), relates to
the amount of vitamins we require daily for maintaining health and is
based on the assumed nutrient value of synthetic supplements.

The RDA*s, DV*s or other *standards* that are generally accepted by most
agencies and institutions were originally established through animal testing
using synthetic vitamins - supplements that we have already determined as
indigestible and severely lacking in nutritional value.

There is a proposal for a new standard for vitamins and nutrients called
the: **Naturally Occurring Standard** or *NOS*. This standard, which will
completely revolutionize the supplement industry, is related to verifiable
amounts of naturally-occurring vitamins, minerals or other nutrients as found
in natural foods and botanicals.

It is our strong opinion - in the interest of public health - that the NOS
should be adopted by the food industry as a consumer standard for all food
supplements or fortified foods. The NOS symbol printed on dietary
supplements or food products labels will ensure that a product contains only
naturally-occurring whole food materials, enabling consumers to make the
healthiest choices for themselves and their family. For more information on NOS
standards, see the resources section in the back of this book, or go to
_www.nosg.org_ (http://www.nosg.org) .

An old soapbox of mine, is why we let foreigners own our farm land??

I posted last night on the fact that they found a loop hole and are buying up the Israel farm land and now stumble across this in a July 1, newsletter.

Cara’s Commentary & Community Chat, Wed., Feb. 25, 2009
February 25, 2009 by Bill Cara

[8:32am ET] Nationalization by any other name is still taxpayer support of companies that should be in the private sector. Political fingers get into the pie, government grows larger and more forceful, and deficits either grow or tax rates grow. It’s a vicious circle led by political hypocrites.

Reuters this morning contributed to the fraud with their reporting in the UK:

Financials got a lift after Bernanke said the government did not have plans to nationalise major banks at this stage. The comments also buoyed Wall Street and Asian shares. In the UK, finance minister Alistair Darling said the UK’s part-nationalised banks should remain owned both by investors and the government for now so it is eventually easier to return them to full private ownership. Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds Banking Group, Barclays, HSBC and Standard Chartered advanced between 4.8 and 9 percent.”

“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”

Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931-2005

Hum. Stirring words. Half of me applauds. Half of me weeps. You might also say that when millions live hand to mouth on the streets without hope; when the education system is dysfunctional for lack of funding; when the sick are not cared for because they do not have the money etc., when darwinian capitalism leads to wrecked lives and abject poverty in the midst of obscene wealth, THAT “my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. Society is based on cooperation, not markets.” (with apologies to Dr Adrian Rogers.)

[I thought this comment was on target, for the big business that we have today, is not honest businesses [many of them], but are communist front groups and soros funded, in my opinion.....

Not the old “I can build a better mouse trap than you and will grow to hire many people and be rich, as it was once in America for the common man.

Agri-Food Thoughts
by Ned W. Schmidt

The American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 (ACES), a 1,300 page yet to be written law based on clearly and widely acknowledged junk science, has been passed by the U.S. House of Representatives. Few sessions of the U.S. Congress have been able to pass two major pieces of extremely bad and damaging legislation in such a short time. However, even in a law as bad as this one we should be able to find some ways for investors to profit.

One needs to only understand the implications of such monumentally misguided legislation. Such laws provide for government regulations to impair and restrict consumer, business, and commercial activities. As a consequence of that, less of everything will be made. The creation of regulations, such as this law intends to accomplish, will reduce total output of the U.S.. Government regulations only serve to reduce the total output of a nation. Government regulations never increase the output of a nation.

Second, the imposition of government regulations, as proposed by this law, will only serve to raise the future price of everything. Removal of regulations, on the other hand, lowers prices. Such expectations have been confirmed repeatedly, from natural gas to airline tickets to phone calls. Government regulations force costs up, and marginal producers are forced out of business.

Prices of Agri-Food commodity prices should rise if ACES is enacted. All costs associated with energy will rise, and producing food requires energy in many forms. A consequence of that will be less production as marginal agricultural lands are not planted due to high costs. Further, marginal producers of Agri-Foods will be forced out of business. Just as the world is moving into an era in which it needs more Agri-Food production, the U.S. Congress is passing a law that will reduces global production of Agri-Food, as well as a long list of other goods.

continued and has other news letter suggestions.........

Why the Government Doesn’t Need Your Gold
by The Mogambo Guru

There is suddenly a lot of interest in the idea that the federal government will make holding gold illegal, an example of which is “Is the Confiscation of Gold by Certain Central Banks Likely?” by Julian D. W. Phillips of GoldForecaster.com.

He reminds us that “in 1933 the US government banned the ownership of gold by US citizens and purchased all but rare gold coins from the US public. They did this, at $20 an ounce. Two years later they revalued gold to $35 an ounce, a 75% revaluation” which instantly gave the government a lot of new, but still 100% gold-backed money to spend!

What a blatant, brazen theft! And nobody says anything! But let me take a few bucks out of the employee pension fund, petty cash drawer or the coffee jar, then it is some kind of “big deal” around here and everyone wants me to get fired! What kind of crap is that, huh?

Anyway, so how much gold are we talking about? Well, the total amount of gold above ground that you can put your hands on is estimated to be about 140,000 tonnes, which is approximately 90% of all of the gold that has ever been mined, which is estimated to be 160,000 tonnes.

Added to that, there is an annual mine production of roughly 2,500 tonnes of gold, but which is becoming harder and more costly to find and mine.

Perhaps it is all this talk of confiscation of gold that has Doug Hornig of Casey Research’s Gold & Resource Report commenting that when FDR made private ownership of gold illegal in 1933, the dollar was on the gold standard and thus 100% backed by gold.

The difference between then and now is that “we have long since abandoned the gold standard, and Obama doesn’t face FDR’s constraints on monetary inflation” which is (insert sound of trumpet fanfare) the winner of the coveted Mogambo Award For The Understatement Of The Week (MAFTUOTW).

It wins for two reasons, the first being that is so terrifyingly true! There are no constraints on the government getting the Federal Reserve to create as many dollars as it, or anyone, needs or wants, and thus it is beyond ludicrous to even compare the 1933 gold-backed dollar against the pathetic piece of almost-worthless fiat money that the dollar has become, to which Mr. Hornig alludes when he says that Obama has it easy, as “However much money is needed to finance his New Deal Redux, he can have it. All he has to do is rev up the printing press or turn an unlimited number of bits and bytes into electronic cash.”

And he is, alas, absolutely right. Unlimited amounts of money can be created just by asking for it. In fact, no one has ever disputed that fact, as it is the whole reason behind having a fiat currency! Hahaha!

In relation to the prospects for a confiscation of gold, he asks, “Given this kind of clout, what does he need gold for?” which is exactly right! If you can print money to spend, why do you need gold to sell to get money to spend? Hahaha!

Unfortunately for Mr. Hornig, he does not go on to the Mogambo Bonus Round (MBR) because I must deduct points from his score since he is grammatically incorrect to end a sentence with “for”, as in his “need gold for?”

Instead the sentence should have properly read, “Given this kind of clout, for what does he need gold?” which IS grammatically correct, so you can see the crucial difference!

And perhaps it is this “correct grammar” thing that makes the colossal incompetence of the Federal Reserve even more terrifying when adding that undertone of grammatical precision to the nightmare that the Fed created so much money and credit that it allowed the dollar to lose so much purchasing power since 1933 that gold is now almost $1,000 per ounce, up from the $20-to-$35 per ounce rip-off that financed the whole New Deal for a decade! Grrrr!

Of course, I would love to go on and on from there, waxing evermore contemptuously lyrical and angrily ever-louder about why I despise the un-Constitutional, un-holy Federal Reserve and everything it stands for, which is summed up in the Mogambo Big Book Of Economic Stuff (MBBOES) as “Purposeful inflation in money and credit by a central bank to create unprecedented amounts of debt for unbelievable of amounts of consumption that inevitably leads to ruinous inflation in consumer prices and ruinous deflation in asset prices such that it destroys the entire economy, which will soon lead to many, many poignant stories of ordinary men and women who, along with their doomed children, are wandering around, dazed and lost, living under bridges and overpasses, calling themselves Lost Children Of The Mogambo (LCOTM), forever bleating for pity that they did not listen when he told them to buy gold because their government was acting so insanely with fiscal and monetary policy, and now they are being cruelly punished by persistent price increases against which these people can only offer falling or stagnant nominal wages and collapsing real, inflation-adjusted wages, devalued assets, vanished wealth and disappearing jobs, which means a drastically falling standard of living until they are finally reduced to eating lawn clippings and miscellaneous bugs while screaming for revenge, whereupon the world then devolves into a dreary, post-Apocalyptic, dog-eat-dog world where, once again, for the umpteenth time in history, we learn that the dogs that eat well are going to be the ones who switched to gold when their governments started wallowing in such fiscal and monetary lunacy, which is why you ought to be out buying some more gold right now.”

I would probably end the Predictable Mogambo Tirade (PMT) with something in the vein of drawing an eerie parallel between the Fed creating too much money and credit, which leads to disastrous, ruinous, murderous inflation in prices, and the fact that the American government once gave smallpox-infected blankets to the Indians, which seems so, so apropos, which deliciously rhymes so you know it must be true.

Or maybe I would angrily relate how I, a normal, tax-paying citizen, call the CIA and demand to know under the Freedom Of Information Act if they are spying on me, or if any other jackbooted, government-Gestapo thugs are spying on me or tampering with my stuff, such as messing with my dishwasher which, after about 12 years of perfect performance, is now making this strange intermittent groaning noise, like a belt slipping or something that goes rrrrRRRrrrrrRRRrrrrrr, and then they put me on hold, and then they come back on the line and tell me that nobody is spying on me, but you can tell from their voices that they are lying.

Mr. Hornig is not sure that the CIA is out to get more or that a confiscation of gold is in the cards, although “An argument can be made that the yellow metal is still useful. It runs like this: Creating money out of thin air is inflationary, and a large stash of gold, even if it doesn’t officially back anything, serves as a sort of counterweight. People around the world will have greater confidence in your currency knowing that, as a last resort, you can pay your bills in gold. And the more gold you have, the better.”

Nevertheless, Mr. Hornig speaks for both of us when he says, “all things considered, a modern-day gold confiscation is not high on our list of financial worries”, although he adds the caveat that “Never say never where government stupidity is involved”, which sums it up perfectly, making it almost unnecessary that I jump up and yell, “Buy gold, silver and oil to save your worthless butt whenever your own government is acting with fiscal and monetary stupidity, which they are doing right now, which means” (insert musical soundtrack with heavy backbeat) “you should be buying these things RIGHT NOW because investing is easy when you KNOW HOW!”

Snipped.............

Wells Fargo and over $100 billion of economic losses????

In the case of Wells Fargo, we have applied high LTV ARM loss rates to calculate the losses on HELOCs (which comprises of total 1-4 family junior lien mortgages and line of credit) since the direct HELOC data was not available for WFC. The total losses in these loans are expected to skyrocket as can be seen from the raw, and unbiased NY Fed and FDIC call sheet data (see The Re-Release of the Open Source Mortgage Default Model and Green Shoots are Being Fertilized by Brown Turds in the Mortgage Markets). It is a small wonder why the Treasury failed to use this government data to run the bank stress tests, for if they did the outcome would have been far different, and decidedly much more negative. We have taken a conservative approach in valuing the loan losses due to which the total loan losses in the HELOCs alone would be 56.4% or US$62.1 billion.

We have segregated the total HELOC loans as owner occupied and non-owner occupied based on the proportion mentioned in the FDIC data derived spreadsheet for each respective states. Than, applying the default rate assumption made in this sheet for High Risk ARM (owner occupied - 65% & non-owner occupied - 95%) we calculated the total default rate for each state.

Further, we applied the recovery rate based on the current LTV to arrive at the total charge-off in the next two years.

The total losses are expected to jump to US$187.4 billion in the adverse case in the coming two years. Wells Fargo’s current Tangible Common Equity (TCE) stands at 3.28%, which is significantly lower than the prescribed limit of 4%. According to our estimate, the bank’s TCE would fall to 1.56% at the end of 2010 after adjusting for accounting and economic losses. Considering the massive anticipated losses in the next two years, Wells Fargo’s capital would fall short by US$34.3 billion and not US$13.7 billion as shown by the SCAP result (see America, You have been outright lied to! Bamboozled! Swindled! Hoodwinked! The Worst Case Scenario, Welcome to the Big Bank Bamboozle!, and The Real Stress Test Results) to maintain a TCE ratio of 4% in the pessimistic case. As Wells Fargo has raised US$8.6 billion capital it would still be required to raise additional US$25.65 billion as a safeguard against a deeper economic downturn or a recovery marred by another negative dip, OR a recovery hampered by lingering unemployment OR a recovery contrained by floundering property sector OR a recovery pulled down by mediocre growth.

Here is the Wells Fargo Eyles test, Texas Ratio and Tangible Equity trends using FDIC and NY Fed data as fed though our forensic model, incorporating off balance sheet entity risk.

Obama’s Electrification of America
by Richard Mills

America’s future energy course is being charted today because of the ramifications of peak oil, because cars pollute too much, because of global warming, because America wishes to end her dependence on foreign supplied energy and to be blunt... Americans need jobs.

“A new energy economy is going to be part of what creates the millions of new jobs that we need,” President Obama.

Because of these reasons a whole new industry, a domestic automotive and industrial lithium-ion battery industry, is going to be built.

President Obama recently said, when announcing US$2.4 billion in grants to accelerate the manufacturing and use of next-generation car batteries and electric vehicles, “I’m committed to a strategy that ensures America leads in the design and the deployment of the next generation of clean-energy vehicles. This is not just an investment to produce vehicles today; this is an investment in our capacity to develop new technologies tomorrow.”

Obama’s plan is to have one million electric cars on U.S. roads by 2015. JPMorgan predicts hybrid sales will reach 9.6 million cars three years later. Global Strategic Analysts predicts that the market for lithium-ion batteries is likely to grow at a compound annual growth rate of over 32% through 2010. With an increased demand for hybrid automobiles this growth rate will continue.

Commodity rules rule! Will electrification ignite a lithium boom?

Only time will tell. But with lithium batteries going to play a key role in the auto industry and eventually appearing throughout the electrical grid it’s entirely plausible, in this author’s humble opinion, that lithium is the next break out investment.

There’s billions and billions of dollars, courtesy of the government’s stimulus package, still to come (Washington has already handed out US$8 billion in loans) for advanced battery technology R&D companies and battery manufacturers. The auto industry is gearing up to make its first real go at marketing plug-in vehicles for the masses. The start flag has dropped and the race to build lithium-ion batteries for vehicles has started.

If the US does not develop a lithium-ion battery manufacturing sector at home it may very well be shut out of the electric car business - he who makes the batteries will also make the cars. Lithium demand will skyrocket as more and more hybrids roll down the assembly line. Current processing potential is limited, making it vulnerable to market disruption. And limited supplies could mean big profits for lithium miners and producers.

It’s extremely hard to believe that any politician or lobbyist would consider sourcing the needed supplies for Obama’s Energy Revolution from offshore suppliers and risk the same foreign dependence as they have today with oil. Politicians will fight tooth and nail to avoid importing lithium or lithium-ion batteries.

Because there is so much money being thrown around and because lithium is the key ingredient to make these future electric cars viable it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone if investors are smiling with glee over the prospects of a huge boom in the prices of their favorite lithium explorers and producers.

Will the Electrification of America become unplugged?

The U.S. Government Accountability Office, in a report to congress, warned that by switching from gas-powered cars to lithium battery powered cars the U.S. might simply “substitute reliance on one foreign resource for another.”

“Politicians ... ran on a plank based on ending foreign oil dependence, and it is unlikely that voters will want to meekly transfer this dependence to lithium.” Said the Council On Hemispheric Affairs, Washington, D.C.

Obama said this during his election campaign....”Finding the new driver of our economy is going to be critical. There’s no better driver that pervades all aspects of our economy than a new energy economy...That’s going to be my No. 1 priority when I get into office.” President Obama

And it appears he’s going to keep his promise...

It would be very difficult to overstate the importance of US sourced lithium in Obama’s coming Electrification of America.

US Lithium Sources & Reserves

Lithium carbonate is needed to make the cathode material and the electrolyte used in a lithium battery, lithium Carbonate (Li2CO3) is produced from Lithium Chloride.

Economic concentrations of lithium are found in brines, minerals and clays in various parts of the world. Brines and high-grade lithium ores are the present source for all commercial lithium production.

Pegmatite’s - course grained igneous rocks. The principal lithium pegmatite minerals are spodumene, petalite and lepidolite.

Continental Brines - The lithium contained within these salt lake brines comes mainly from the leaching of volcanic rocks, which then flows into a catchment basin.

Geothermal & Oilfield Brines

Hectorite Clays - hectorite is found in a number of areas in the western US.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS) US reserves of lithium total 760,000 tons. One kilogram of lithium equals 5.3 kilograms of the lithium carbonate used to make batteries.

South America accounted for 60% of world output of lithium in 2008, followed by Australia and China, which combined produced 30% of the total. Two-thirds of the world production was from brines and one-third from lithium minerals (used mainly in the ceramic and glass industry).

Nevada - the US’s own Saudi Arabia of Lithium?

Clayton Valley is home to the only lithium producer in the United States. This plant extracts lithium from brines pumped from aquifiers below the valley and has been in production since 1967. The plant is designed to produce 1.2 million kg of lithium per year and to date has produced an estimated 50 million kg of lithium.

In 1975, I.A. Kunasz of the American Institute of Mining, estimated the mineral endowment of Clayton Valley to be 750 million kg of lithium. A more recent study by Price, Lechler, Lear and Giles in 2000, suggests that significantly more lithium was released into the Clayton Valley catchment by the weathering of high lithium bearing rocks. They suggest that as groundwater enters the basin, it appears to be dissolving lithium minerals accumulated in valley sediment and is partially recharging the lithium content of the brine, while mining operations have been ongoing.

“Replenishment of brines comes from surrounding Rhyolite, which are the most lithium rich in the world. Brines in the area have concentrations as high as 1000 ppm. Concentrations as low as 166 ppm have been used in lithium brine pool extraction methods.” - Author

The following two junior companies have brine deposits in Nevada.

Rodinia Minerals Inc RM:TSX.v www.rodiniaminerals.com

TNR Gold Corp TNR:TSX.v www.tnrgoldcorp.com

Lithium also occurs in significant concentrations in the mineral hectorite, a trioctahedral smectite, lithium can be extracted from the clay through either a pyrometallurgical (roasting) or hydrometallurgical (solution) method.

Western Lithium Corp WLC:TSX.v www.westernlithium.com is working on a hectorite clay deposit in Nevada.

Conclusion

Lithium is one of the best ways to play President Obama’s energy agenda. The power of the Office of the President of the United States will be backing the Eco-Energy Revolution and billions of dollars will be given out to develop the technology behind the lithium-ion battery. This energy revolution is a serious investable long-term trend and we, as investors, have to take advantage of the opportunities being presented. We’d be smart to get in early, ahead of the herd, to take advantage of the coming global rush to electricity.

Currently lithium supply and demand are relatively in balance, however with the race to develop lithium-based batteries for an electric automotive industry there will be a shortfall of supply in the future.

New potential US based lithium supply side companies are coming and early strategic investors are already positioning themselves. It’s not often in an investor’s life they get the opportunity to invest in something so profound, something so huge it constitutes a sea change in the way we go about our daily business. With the full might of the Office of the President of the United States of America behind it the push for electrification is becoming a reality, and because of this new reality in America, lithium might just become the commodity of choice for investors.

The new rules are awesome. If you have a well you are allowed to collect the rainwater that falls on your property.

Colorado:

Senate Bill 09-080, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by the Governor during the 2009 legislative session, allows limited collection and use of precipitation for landowners, only if:

1. The property on which the collection takes place is residential property, and

2. The landowner uses a well, or is legally entitled to a well, for the water supply, and

3. The well is permitted for domestic uses according to Section 37-92-602, C.R.S., (generally, this means the permit number will be five or six digits with no “-F” suffix at the end), and

4. There is no water supply available in the area from a municipality or water district, and

5. The rainwater is collected only from the roof, and

6. The water is used only for those uses that are allowed by, and identified on, the well permit.

They just changed the law yesterday. Slightly. You can do
it with some restrictions. Google colorado rain water.

[In their law making, they made it illegal to catch and use rainwater in Colorado.........tell me they have not gone insane!!!
