I LOVE my Kindle. I still love going to bookstores, the smell of books, etc. But, the Kindle does have it's place. Traveling, for one. To each his own, I guess. You do have a compelling argument, that's for sure.

Mind you, I’m not talking about rejecting e-books, but rather a *Kindle* e-book reader. I have an e-book reader and a whole lot of e-books. They are in PDF format and I like them that way, too.
The one thing I know *for sure* is that they won’t disappear if someone else “figures out” (for some reason, like in the “thinking of 1984”) that I shouldn’t have them... LOL...
I can protect those e-books and even hide them if I have to and even encrypt them so that no one else can get to them (if I want to). I can back them up and spread them around, if I want to...
I got into E-Books back when I got my Palm I loved being able to log on to the INTERNET and downloading a book in seconds 24/7 (no trips to the bookstore which is more than a 2 hour round trip for the part of the country I live in).
But I soured on the prospect as more and more publishers raised the price of their E-books to the same level as their "dead tree media" Editions of the very same book.
I have a problem with such idiocy for a number of reasons not the least of which the DRM issue that stops me from reselling my E-book or lending it to a friend. (I got no problem with such IF I was paying substantially less for a E-book that grants me much less in the way of Ownership Rights) The other obvious bit is an E-book costs multitudes less to produce over a copy in "dead tree media" format.
I love the idea of Kindle BUT if their price for books are the same as Hard Copies then I won't invest in such. I'll just use the library until prices come in line with their dramatically reduced costs that come with producing E-books!
