You were saying — At some point knowledge and literature should enter the public domain and it should not take fifty years and it should not be indefinite.

In terms of the Copyright Term Extension Act — of course we can all protest this through civil disobedience... :-)
But now thanks to the 1998 version we have another 11 years.
I imagine about the time the Beatles catalogue is about to go ex copy right their will be another push to extend copy right protection to third and forth generations of heirs.
Hey look that little bell on top of Michael Jacksons grave is ringing.
You said — Hey look that little bell on top of Michael Jacksons grave is ringing.

Yeah, that’s his father ringing the bell..., smiling...
I dont know if you were aware that Michael Jackson owns the copy rights to most of the Beatles work.
I was referring to Michael Jackson wanting to be released from his grave so he could continue to profit from the Beatles work.
See link above for explanation of what the bell is about.
Yeah, I knew he “owned” part of it, while Sony owned the other part. But, with his debts, it was questionable how much he actually still owned, figuring in the debts.
The bell link doesn’t seem to go somewhere that makes any sense, though...
Sorry about that. I have no idea how that link got messed up. Never seen that site before. Wisards of the web!
I should be more careful.
I tested this link.
Interesting... I sorta suspected this... :-)
