Hubby is a diabetic, so we switched from sugar to Splenda. I found that the Splenda caused me to have way to much intestinal discomfort. So I switched to the natural sweetner Ribana aka Stevia. One packet is equal to two tsp. of sugar and I love it! Hubby does too. Haven’t tried cooking with it, only as a sweetner in coffee and cereal.

I have Stevia growing in a container on my deck. I also have chives, parsley, rosemary and sage, interspersed with annual flowers. It's a riot of colour along with some wonderful scents.

Stevia. I have used it for a loooong time. I have not cooked with it either. Always have some on me for ice tea in restaurants.

It comes from a South American tree that means “honey leaves”. It is all natural. NO worries. I have been using it since I had gestational diabetes with my now 16 year old daughter. The rest of my family uses real sugar.
