My grandson is 5’6” and was the smallest in the unit. His peers had a tendency to rib him until they found out that he could get into places and do things that they couldn’t, because of their size.

Anoreth will become extremely useful, not only during training, but when she reaches her PCS.

IF nothing else, she’ll be more comfortable on the cutter than a 6-footer would be.

She’s going to get plenty of excitement in this job, I think. A man in my Weight Watchers meeting is retired from the Coast Guard, and he said one of the long-haul cutters from Charleston was in the Black Sea during the Russian invasion of Georgia last year!

I’ve emailed the CG training center to find out what to do about Anoreth’s stuff. DP can take a box up to Cape May when he drives up there, if they’ll ship it out to Seattle, but we don’t know if they will. He thinks they’ll transport her goods from our house to Seattle, because the Air Force moved some of his stuff from his mother’s house to San Antonio - thirty years ago - but I don’t plan to rely on that. (He seems to think everything in the military, no matter which service, no matter how long it’s been, is exactly like his specific experience.)

As a last option, I can mail things to her when she gets to Seattle. It’ll take longer, but she’s not going to die without her books and art supplies and iPod.

Anyway, I assume the “any other questions?” contact person will get back to me eventually. I suppose I can send the underwear and iPod up with DP, no matter what, since it will fit in her duffle bag if that’s all she’s allowed to take.
