I've been in sort of a similar situation. Everything is taking more than twice as long as it should,and my to-do list has become a really slippery thing.

Just yesterday I thought I'd throw my hat in the ring as a speaker at a conference next March (in Baltimore). Usually this just takes a short e-mail but yesterday it took an hour or more to walk through the online forms, then produce documents such as talk outline, bio, speaking history, etc. I was tempted to drop it and walk away.
