I hate that Gays stole a word to describe themselves that at one time meant to be Happy. Because most Gays are anything but(no pun intended). I have been a fan of SpongeBob for a few years now. No matter how you may feel about Sponge,he can make you laugh. And God knows, we need something to laugh about these days.

Spongebob is NOT gay!!

A gay guy we know decorated his bedroom completely in a Sponge Bob motif. Before that it was all Ricky Martin. He may have moved on to something else by now.

I’d say Lost (maybe, LOL) and Fringe, and definitely Lie to Me, and Bones, but for me “intelligently written” means “you have to think when you watch it” or “the writers know their subject material” and not necessarily “funny”. Although, I’m not going to argue about the comedy writing, cause comedy is one of the genres that I almost never watch (except for the occasional episode of Futurama or Big Bang Theory).

This is my new favorite

I watched a Phineas and Ferb the other night (the Meap episode) that I thought was just as well written and as funny as a Seinfeld episode. I seriously have been more entertained with these cartoons than any network sitcom/comedy in years.

P & F has got to be one of the cleverest written shows on TV nowadays. Of course, one of the creators worked on Family Guy, and according to the Wikipedia entry on P & F, he wanted to get the same joke-a-minute mentality, but in a way that is appealing to both adults and the kids.

My DH and 8 y/o have a lot of favorite lines, and will spontaneously recite whole scenes while we are waiting in line at restaurants, etc. “Frankenbob” is a big favorite—”FINLAND!!!” LOL. Maya also loves the one where Spongebob, Patrick and Squidward go ‘camping’ (”The C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G Song” is a favorite) where Spongebob is telling urban legends and says something along the lines of “I knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this OTHER guy...” and so on and so on. :-)

My personal favorite is the one where the Flying Dutchman (a ghost) kidnaps the three, and Patrick is driving the ghost ship while Spongebob gives directions, “You’re good! You’re good! You’re good! We can buff out those scratches later—” while the ship shows to be full of holes from scraping against boulders, LOL. To this day whenever we’re parking or backing up one of our vehicles and asks the other to keep an eye on the cars next to us we go through this whole routine! :-)
