It’s not about logic.
Don’t hire incompetence.
Bad business practitioners should be out of a job.

This is a good solution but it is like locking the doors after the horses broke out of the barn. I refused to give our SSN in the beginning. It was testy. They said they needed it for insurance purposes. I told them they had an insurance card and they could use that number for insurance purposes.
Finally, they agreed.
Cases like this are exactly why every Tom, Dick and Harry operation should not be using SSN's for identification purposes.

Bad business practitioners should be out of a job.Now you are saying that one bad hire and a physician should lose his practice. Folks like you give conservatives a bad reputation. Your sweeping disposal of a person and their career based on very sketchy and incomplete information is not only disappointing, it is downright disgusting. Folks like you deserve nothing better than Al Franken as your Senator from MN.

Between overseas financial processing centers and hackers holding personal data for extortion, these are very scary times. The subject of this thread is a grain of sand compared to the vast electronic fraud potential.

Firing the doctor isn’t the answer unless he’s a bad doctor. 60-70 percent of all thefts are internal so it can and does happen anywhere. The doctor told his customers which is more than most do.

Contact Equifax, TransUnion and Experian (the nation’s three credit reporting agencies) and order credit reports for your husband and for yourself, and then have them place “Fraud Alerts” if you see any transactions or accounts not opened by you.

Here’s something I find disturbing: I just got back from the DMV this morning to renew my license. The custodial staff were county jail inmates. They were working behind the counters. Behind the counters where hundreds of applications with names, addresses, and SSNs wind up daily....

The custodial staff were county jail inmates Custodial staffs are the worst. Nigerians have used this ploy for 30+ years. Most of the cleaners are illegals too, paid cash. I'm not sure how they do it.
