Loved the Mets as a young boy listening to Lindsey Nelson & crew on the radio. This was the the late 1970’s when they really sucked. Each win meant something! John Stearns was always their All-Star representative: a pretty good catcher. Great memories of Shea on a warm Summer night.

I go back to the Rheingold beer days. I went to Shea at least once in every decade since the befinning. My first game at Shea was against the Cubs. Warren Spahn pitched for the Mets that day. Ron Swoboda was a rookie, and he hit a homer that day. The Mets won that day — a rare occurence!
