Time for the year's 3rd major championship(already)and the only one of the 4 that is not played on this side of the Atlantic.
This year's event takes us to the west coastline of Scotland, to Royal Turnberry Golf Club where I'm sure the weather will have a lot to do with who wins and who doesn't win.
So what storyline is going to be written this time.....
Can Padraig win for the 3rd year in a row? Is Tiger going to tie his buddy Roger and win his 15th Major? Can Greg Norman turn the fountain of youth on again, but keep it on Sunday too and shock the world? Or do even bigger underdogs, like John Daly or David Duval revisit past glory? Or do stars like Paul Casey, Sergio, Ernie, Anthony Kim or others get the big prize come Sunday night?
Who do you think will hold the Claret Jug come Sunday??
Early weather forecast for the weekend, intermittent rain showers with highs in the low 60's.
Tiger tees off at 4:09AM EDT(9:09AM BST)on Thursday.

I think Tom can play well enough too. The problem with predicting weather especially in that part of the world is the ocean influences everything. With what’s expected. we’ll all turn our TV’s on in the AM and see blue skies again.
But if the expected hits, even Tiger must even take it easy and even play conservatively if he wants to make sure he sticks around for the weekend. I think in Tiger’s case course management is gonna be more important than the weather conditions.
Tom makes the cut no doubt, although I think he backs up a little shooting 73. Tiger shoots 68 and gets in at -2 also. You’re not going to see scoring get much better than it is. At best the lead is -7. At best.
I think it will be back to -5 by Sunday...Greg almost did it for the old guys maybe Watson can hang in there and be in the hunt Sunday! :o)
It could be even worse than -5 by the time the champion golfer is crowned. For the sake of tomorrow’s play I don’t see a Jimenez, Curtis or Stricker backing up. One of them could be at the -7 mark after tomorrow.
Padraig shoots the best round tomorrow, a 66 to get to -5 and right in the mix.
John Daly -3??
Oooooh, this could be fun!!
Next year’s open is at St. Andrews
Tickets 60 pounds per day.
Hotel 800 pounds for six days
1.63$ per pound...PRICELESS!
Last time I checked, Ben Curtis was what, +7 for the day? Oh now look at those shots on TV. that’s the Open championshio we know and love.
Steve Marino in the clubhouse at -5, after shooting 68.
You’re right about that!! Priceless indeed.....
Looks like Ben Curtis is going north of 80 at this rate......WOW!!!
4:13 a.m. at my home and I’m up watchin golf on a computer
I got it bad
OUCH! THem’s some UGLY numbers on that card...but he’ll save money on hotel room!
It’s LIVE on TNT right now...
GOLF - not just a game, it’s a headache for life!
I have dreams...shooting -6 and then someone steals all my balls and my putter is broken...
not live here yet....some cop show thing
my best round from the tips is an 81
my better 3/4’s always says in that grating voice...so you gonna play golf ?
I tell her I’d like to slap the sob who put play and golf together......this s%^& is hard
Just turn the TV on, and you could watch it twice....
no golf on the tv yet
You forgot the part where the bag and clubs ends up in the lake at 17 at TPC Sawgrass....
I just read the other post. Weird.....
uhm
Forrest Gump/Forrest Gump voted for Obammy
Got to love the game. The pro’s get paid to play under those conditions while us hackers will quite often take a day off work and PAY to play under those conditions....LOL!
Oh I know, but the line fits perfectly though, don’t you think.
Els finishes at +1, should make the cut...
