Norfleet tipped off a newspaper about McNair's connection to the driving under the influence charge, with the subject line, "Pretty interesting news about our golden boy McNair." "You would be pretty amazed at the fact of who he was actually with, which I really don't think his wife would like it too much either."

And what are the odds that the newspaper called McNair's wife for a comment?

I won't be too surprised if more details expose this guy as instigating and antagonizing an already ugly situation.

I feel sorry for the children of McNair, who will continue to suffer while the media exposes every dirty detail.

The ex-boyfriend looks like a suspect IMO. His comments about Kazemi take away her motive, he said she was going to leave McNair, and he put himself at the scene the night of the murder. They had a violent history together and he wrote suspicious rap lyrics suggesting murder. I’ll be shocked if she did it.

He doesn’t sound like a very intelligent fellow. If he is involved, it shouldn’t be too dificult for forensics to link him to the killings.

And let’s not be too easy on McNair. She worked at the ‘Dave & Buster’s” restaraunt where he often took the wife and kids.

Ballistics tests are forthcoming but police have already confirmed that three of the shots came from three feet away, one to the head and two to the chest. Her relative said she'd never fired a gun. Pretty hard to do for someone who has never fired a gun.

Is someone being easy on McNair?

I did hear a report on the radio that said she had just recently purchased a hand gun. Also said something about it possibly being an illegal purchase.

Do you know anything about this?

curious that there is no outrage, no questioning, no deep penetrating analysis of McNair (who was probably one of the better individuals in football).....

you'd think that getting yourself shot dead in a private apartment getaway with a young woman not your wife nor your sister would raise the eyebrows a bit.....

she probably did it....maybe McNair wanted to break off the relationship, or maybe she was pregnant and he didn't want the child, but unless shes' got gunpowder residue on her fingers or there was no sign of entry in the apartment and the doors locked, there better be more than just a half assed investigation...

She was too young, 20, to purchase a gun legally and bought one privately after getting arrested for DUI. Her family and neighbors say she was happy and there was no history of fighting between her and McNair. The family says she wanted to marry McNair but the ex-boyfriend says she was leaving him. No clear motive.

You must be 21 years old to purchase a firearm in Tennessee.

The most suspicious element of this event is that McNair's apartment roommate found the bodies and apparently called a friend and nobody notified the police for 40 minutes.

What had to be cleaned up in that apartment before notifying the police?

It was the morning of the 4th of July and plenty of police were mere moments away in downtown Nashville which has a police precinct on Broadway not far from the death scene and a high profile police presence downtown.

When asked by a reporter if there was any indication the bodies had been moved when police arrived to investigate, police spokesman Don Aaron said there was no indication the bodies had been moved.

When asked whether there was any indication any evidence had been moved, Aaron hesitated and declined to answer the question.

As to the issue of "dirty details" of Steve McNair's private life being revealed, there is a simple reply:

If your private life is not full of dirty details, there won't be much to talk about.

IMHO, there are plenty of anecdotal stories of police and journalists covering up the details of acts committed by politicians, athletes, celebrities, etc. The full story will likely never make the news or even the court room.

I’m thinking about having some business cards printed with my occupation listed as “Aspiring Rapper”.

Agreed, he roommate waiting and calling a friend if suspicious. I knew someone in a similar situation when a roommate killed himself in college and he waited to call 9/11 too. Why? He cleaned up the drugs from the guys room and apartment so the family and medics wouldn’t know. My initial reaction was that what McNair roommate was doing. It could also mean they were involved in drugs more than just for recreation. I read somewhere that McNair had been threatened previously although I’ve seen that corroborated.

Yeah, you’ll have lots of company because the ranks of “aspiring rappers” hit 9.5% of the eligible population just recently. That’s not counting all the undocumented ones.

So whoever sold her the gun should be in trouble.

I took a plane trip last month and was seated by an attractive woman. I’m a 53 years old, fat, white guy with a crew cut. She asked me what I did and I told her I was “an aspiring rapper”. She cracked up. I hate being pigeon-holed by these racial stereotypes. ;o)

Headline now says gunpowder residue on her hands but they are still not saying suicide which leads me to believe there must be some indication that it could be staged or there is something not adding up for them to be so reluctant beyond just apparent lack of motive. What the ex-boyfriend said about her leaving him makes no sense in light of friends saying she was preparing to move her furniture or something like that and that she was happy.
The other thing doesn’t add up is the gunshots to McNair- 3 shots (2 in the chest and 1 to the head) from a few feet away then the fourth (head) shot from close range. Also said her gunshot to the head that the gun was touching her head when fired. If you are a lover in a spat or think you are being dumped or whatever reason let’s speculate she may have had- I can envision several wild shots at McNair and one to herself but such precise shooting seems very unlikely especially if she’d never fired a gun before. If she shot him can you imagine her stepping in for a fourth shot before killing herself?
My money is on the boyfriend. Who set up the gun sale?
