I think we should start NOW designing and building a Hubble-type observatory that we launch into space and into the void like we did with the Voyagers. Every so often it would look back at Earth's transits. We could learn so much more if we knew what we were looking for.

Actually that’s one of the more interesting ideas I’ve heard in a while. We know what’s here but not what it looks like from a distance.
