I still fail to see the big problem when you can get a replacement battery as cheaply for the Apple as your Compaq. So what if the user can’t replace it, either way you are out the same amount of money. If the battery is as useful as they claim do you really not think it is worth the tradeoff of a few hours at the mall? That is really all anyone will be out.
That is a BIG assumption on your part that this new Li-Poly battery will cost the same to replace as the Li-Ion battery they now sell for $129/$179. You also fail to factor in the cost of service of replacing this non-removable battery after the warranty period expires. If they replace it as a courtesy with the user just paying the price of the battery itself then it is not so bad, but I highly doubt that will be the case. Time will tell.
