Mama_Bear,
What a beautiful 5th wheel. Oh how we miss our travel trailer! We sold it last year, and I never dreamed how much we would miss it! Your photo makes me want to go out and buy up another!

We are arriving on the camping scene a little later than most people, and there definitely is a learning curve. We have made every mistake in the newbie camper's handbook, but we usually only make a mistake once and are learning as we go along. The last big one was forgetting to put the truck in "tow gear" as we were pulling the 7,000 ft climb up the mountains going to Lake Tahoe. We overheated and my husband is still beating himself up because he made such a dumb mistake.
Our little 5th wheel is on the smallish size, but when the slide is out, it feels nice and comfortable and has everything we need. I can't imagine pulling one of those humongous RV's, like our son has, down the road. We are plenty big enough. LOL
I do not regret for a minute that we made the investment. My concern was, since we aren't retired yet, we wouldn't be able to use it as often as we should and it would end up sitting in storage most of the year, but my husband is determined to take it somewhere for a long weekend every month. I am glad to see him finally taking some time off from the business after years and years of working six days a week.
If there is any chance you can get back into RVing, Polly, now is the time to do it. It's a buyer's market out there. We got such an incredible deal on ours that I almost feel guilty.......almost. ;-)
Have a good day!
