I want to see you would support Ron Paul for four positions of power in US government. Just an experiment.

I support Ron Paul even though he is not perfect.

When I think of RP I think back to Jr. High. We had this teacher in 8th grade who was really wise, but older and not too hip - the kids walked all over him. The class after mine actually drove him to quit. The kids liked the cool young teachers even if they weren’t that great at teaching - or had real wisdom of any kind. That teacher who quit ended up working with students at the college level as a tutor at learning center. Those students respected him and wanted to learn.

In short - most of the people in this country want the young hip guy in office even if he sucks. They behave and think like a bunch of Jr. High kids.

I’ve pretty much lost all hope for America.

Congress is fine. The man is obviously intelligent.

As far as the rest, no.

President - No. Mental illness is a disqualifier.

Congressman - No. I’ll leave him to the Texians.

Governor - No. Him as a governor would be like driving a car toward the Grand Canyon with no breaks.

In all three cases, and as a matter in general, he is a big detriment to the conservative movement.

Ron Paul;

Wasn’t he that mental dude who convinced his followers to commit suicide and hitch a ride on a Comet?

He sure sounds like it. Just when he starts sounding sensible and Conservative, he goes so far to the Right, he comes back out on the Left. And the really scary thing about him is, he can’t tell the difference himself.

Let him go home and become a person again. He has had his moment in Congress, too many in fact.

Well you’ve apparently attracted the globalist internet operatives with your question.

Anyone who would speak out against the tsunami of global communism that is currently destroying America’s culture and domestic economy is public enemy number 1, as you can tell by these posts.

Yes

Yes

Yes

He's done more to enunciate the defense of the principles of the Founders than any living individual in any office.

God bless him, and long may he live and fight for freedom.

I wouldn't want him to be President or Governor or Senator. If he already were my Congressman, I'd consider voting for him. As one of 435 Representatives there's a limit to how much danger he could do.

But why run Paul down so much? He's not quite as crazy or as dangerous as some in politics. And crazies have a way of balancing each other out.

Eccentric free marketeer kooks balance out statist nuts. Isolationist ninnies can balance out interventionist fanatics and vice versa.

I actually suppored Ron Paul for president last year, in the Maine Republican caucuses and at the state convention.

You are a young conservative, and I'm curious, did you get involved in the campaigns last year, and what did you think of the different people involved? What I saw was that the McCain people were the party hacks and RINOs, the Paul people were principled advocates of limited, Constitutional government. In the middle were those who generally supported the grass-roots Republican ideas of limited-government, but maybe were influenced by anti-Paul smears like what you see on this thread and others, but were mostly doing what they were told to do, ie support "our guy" McCain who was seen as the inevitable candidate by the time of the Maine convention.

Dr. Paul was a long-shot as a candidate in 2008, and would be in the future...to the power brokers in politics Paul's principle over expediency is anathema... but the "Ron Paul Revolution" has a potential, like the Goldwater movement did, to bring new people into the process, and renew the party and the nation.

I hope that rather than accepting the anti-Paul smears you see here, in the MSM, and at leftist media and blogs, that you read what he actually says:

The Revolution: A Manifesto

Campaign For Liberty

Yes, Yes, Yes and Yes.

Why? Because he consistently supports limited, constitutional government. Concepts that this conservative still believes in.
