Yea it is sad to declaw and then release outside..Had a neighbor that did that and the cat use to spend time on our farm and patio...Had no protection for itself...But we did laugh when it tried to climb trees as it had its back claws but not front...Poor cat never succeeded it getting more than a couple of feet off the ground..

I had a fat Siamese rescue that was de-clawed when I got it. It would choose a smallish tree it could get its front arms wrapped around and climb up it, it was fun to watch. She didn't even want to go outside unless I was going out then she would follow me like a dog. I think she knew she was nearly defenceless.

That cat is lucky it didn’t get up a tree, since it would have no way to keep from falling if it slipped.

I went to visit a friend of a friend once, and she had a declawed and defanged cat. I pet it, but it tried to slash and bite me. I was shocked because most domesticated animals love me. I guess it didn’t take well to strangers, and it was a good thing that its weapons were removed. It never went outside though.
