No doubt “they” fixed the recipe ~ used to be a darned good chance of hitting on a “skunk beer” ~ particularly if you picked up a 6 pack at the Drug Fair.

Now just wait a darn minute! I may have a little short term memory loss but I ain’t never been to a drug fair! I went to a gun show, once, and a poetry reading at this wierd used book store, but I ain’t never been to a drug fair.

Parsy, who didn’t even know the had drug fairs.

The “skunk” is caused by light. Whenever a beer is bottled in clear glass or other colors not as dark as plain brown, you run the risk of “light struck” beer...aka skunky beer.

I think you can make beer immune to light-struck effects by adding a little ascorbic acid(vitamin C). Seriously. That’s from memory though so don’t quote me on it.
