The facts in the article show a difference of four thousand light years between the sun and the earth from the center of our galaxy. Four thousand light years is enormous.

Light from the sun hits earth in about 8 minutes give or take.

Also, the article references the density being so huge. Density is a measure of “how much per volume” and in a homgenous material would be consistent no matter the size of the object (galaxy).

When one is submitting articles for review, it is my opinion that the author should strive to keep the science straight. There are serious (series? jk) ramifications when improper use of scope, terms, scale and concepts are allowed to pass in our public dialogue and media.

I applaud the quest of knowledge but a part of all of our jouneys is truth, the ablility to discern and properly communicate the discovery based on the facts.

Otherwise, snake oil merchants and demagogues rule.
