I live in Hawaii, I know what she’s talking about, although I never killed one. We used to have one living on our street and it would squawk terribly loudly at all hours and follow our toddlers around the street, feathers all fanned out and trembling w/passion for our kids! It was scary. And don’t get me started on the pooh. They are quite beautiful but so what, there can be too much of a good thing!

It was like that in our campground. Roosters, chickens & peacocks all over. First summer there I would wake up wondering who or what was yelling what sounded like help. The owner was a bird nut. We finally got him to cage most of the peacocks & got used to the noise. He would thin out the roosters & chickens from time to time. I hated the poop & learned to always have flip flops on. I think the roosters were more evil. They would chase my dogs. We also had wild turkeys, deer, geese, foxes & coyotes. Neither the foxes nor the coyotes got the peacocks. When the bears started to come around we left.
