I was looking into getting an iPhone, but when I started looking at it I found it was under-specced compared to devices already on the market. This doesn't really change that.

3.2 Megapixel camera

Several phones come with 8MP now.

Revolutionary combination of the camera, GPS, compass, and Google maps to identify photo and inform about photo locations.

Aka "Geo-tagging", which is also a standard feature on other GPS equipped phones.

Nothing very exciting here other than the Apple hype.

Check out the LG Arena or the Samsung i8910 HD

And they don't take better photos, because their lenses don't allow it. Upping the megapixel count is a textbook example of a diminishing return.

Aka "Geo-tagging", which is also a standard feature on other GPS equipped phones.

iPhone already does geotagging, it's been doing that since the 2.0 software came out. The feature being described involves the phone knowing exactly what direction it's being pointed in at a specific location on the globe. This would have specific applications: for example, a tourism app can use GPS plus the compass to tell the user what landmark he's looking at.

Nothing very exciting here other than the Apple hype.

Nothing very insightful here other than the usual uninformed anti-Apple junk.

Gee, unless I can attach a Canon AF IS tele-zoom to it, the pixel count doesn't impress me. A crappy lens on a high MP sensor is still going to give you a crappy picture.

That and I hate those small form factor, compose picture on LCD, quick shot type cameras anyway.
