Anyone pointing a camera, especially a cell phone camera, directly at the sun would probably have a very overexposed photo. I don’t see how this shot is even possible.

I live on Kent's east hill I didn't notice anything. My 7-year old was thrilled with the halo though. Kept on having to warn him about looking up at the sun. Me, I was just thrilled to see the sun, dot or no dot.
As for this photo - was it taken because of the black dot, or was it taken because of the halo and the dot noticed later?
