One of the officials of the Miss California pageant who was trying to crucify Carrie Prejean over her stance on gay marriage has quit one day after Donald Trump restored order in the Miss California camp. Shannon Moakley, a former Playboy Playmate, seemed a bit self righteous as reported by Don Surber: She wanted Donald Trump to fire Carrie Prejean as Miss California USA title for posing topless. Now Playboy Playmate Shanna Moakler is out as a pageant official. Moakler’s piety over posing topless was priceless.
Jann Wenner’s US magazine now reported that she quit. Moakler: “Since the press conference yesterday, I had a chance to think about what has taken place, and I feel that at this time it is in my best interest to resign from the Miss California USA organization.
“I cannot with a clear conscious move forward supporting and promoting the Miss Universe Organization when I no longer believe in it, or the contracts I signed committing myself as a youth.
“I want to be a role model for young woman with high hopes of pageantry, but now feel it more important to be a role model for my children. I am sorry and hope I have not let any young supporters down but wish them the best of luck in fulfilling their dreams.”
Moakler as a role model for you women? Let’s see, unwed mother, nude poser, got in a public fight with Paris Hilton — she is the woman you warn your daughters against being.
That she is a hypocrite is just whipped cream on the latte.
Although Trump praised Moakley during the press conference yesterday, it was clear that this was a public spanking of the California pageant directors. They had clearly screwed this thing up and brought scorn down upon the organization owned by Trump.
She won't be missed.

Anyway, they were gunning for this in the Carrie Prejean controversy. They hoped she would melt and apologize and grovel. They hoped she would say she never realized how important same-sex “marriage” was to all those wonderful homosexuals, and that she'd then grovel and go on the Logo Network or the Rachel Maddow show and tearfully apologize. Of course, she'd have to give up her crown, even after apologizing.
When that didn't happen, the left hoped she'd be stripped of the title. That didn't happen, either, so the left is now retreating. That's what always happens on the rare occasions when someone stands up to them. Clarence Thomas is an example of this.
Unfortunately, Justice Thomas and Miss Prejean are exceptions, and most of the time the target of leftist hate capitulates. Still, it's a beautiful sight to witness when a rare conservative with backbone faces down the bullies and ideological thugs.

I saw the press conference and she looked like something was wrong the whole time. I think she was really asked to leave and this is her saving grace declaration. I didn’t even recognize her she sure has changed in a few years.
It’s really funny to think of this Moakler girl. She posed completely nude for Playboy? And she was oh so shocked, totally shocked about some suggestive but not nude pictures of Carrie???????
The other thing about this controversy that got me was Perez Hilton. He was shocked, totally shocked, that Carrie may have violated her contract with the Miss USA organization, because of those allegedly suggestive pictures. So apparently Perez is an expert on contract law now. I wonder if he violated his contract with them by publicly and repeatedly criticizing a pageant contestant?
She was fired.
You forgot to include Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh as two others who have never caved and apologized to the left or admitted to any (fake) wrong doing.
