That's a cottonmouth water moccasin. I've operated heavy equipment and cleared land around Harris, Montgomery, liberty, Polk counties since the 70’s the Area is full of them. They were so thick on some property over on the east side of lake Houston you had to be careful climbing on and off the dozer, they were wadded up in the tracks.
