The only way it could of happened is government. No entrepreneur in his right mind could pass up all that free money trapped in garbage.
My kids complaint was that it did not suspend their belief. They did not say it that way, but they couldn't believe a bunch of infantile fatties could ever make it back to take over earth. We did laugh in a couple of spots, though.
Worse, I saw it in the theater and it cost like $65 with popcorn,etc. Maybe on DVD and with homemade popcorn it would have been better. Wasn't worth the price and I haven't been to a theater since. Won't go anymore either.
Well, to be honest, most people who saw it loved Wall-E, so it’s no surprise it won. Your kids sound a bit older than Wall-E’s target audience, so I’m not really surprised.
Although, I’ll admit I didn’t pay for it... I’ve got friends who can get free tickets, so the day we went, there was nobody else in the theater so we just flipped up the armrests and laid down on the seats and in general had some of the most fun we’ve ever had seeing a movie.
