“We need to keep our eye on the ball and not get diverted IMHO.”
Absolutely. That is what we need to do.
But as we both can see by these threads on FR, there are too many folks in a panic. All they do is get in the way of the real issues while they are running around in a stupor.
They need to lock their doors and windows and hide under their beds, and again, get out of the way.
Sorry for sounding rough, but I am fed up with these pantywaist FR folks.
I haven’t seen anyone in a panic. I’ve seen a few posts from FReepers who called their doctor yesterday morning, and got prescriptions for Tamiflu. Most of them were slated to fly out somewhere come today or Monday, a practical decision. I’ve seen posts from FReepers wanting to track the progress of infection, again practical. I’ve seen posts from FReepers wanting to know the best ways to avoid infection, practical again.
The shrill posts I’ve seen, have been panicky sounding replies from people saying it’s all fake and “DON”T PANIC!!!”
We’re political conservatives here, and are suspicious of the motives, of the current administration. That a President being advised by Rahm Emanuel would seek to capitalize is a foregone conclusion, and you’re not the only one aware of that. To automatically assume that there’s no cause for concern, or being watchful, regarding this flu itself, though, is possibly foolhardy. Only time will tell.
As far as the speculation and the endless threads, it happens here with every bad hurricane, happened with bird flu, happened with Y2K. It’s the nature of a forum with a large number of participants.
So, you calm down, and stop questioning the intelligence of your fellow FReepers. Pantywaists? Projection.
